USB-C PD charger

HI all

Has anyone found a decent high wattage USB-C PD charger. Either to permanent fit or as a plug in?

I have a drone on order and modern phones seem to be going this way, would be good to fast charge in the day when the panels are at full tilt.

TIA
Alan

I ended up buying a 150W inverter just for this reason. My drone charger fast charges the drone fly-more hub (~50Ah) and my solar power pack will charge at 60W on the mains charger, so both can charge on the days out from the camp site enough to power lighting at night. Only downside is the noise of the fan on the inverter but does the job. If you've got a diesel you probably wouldn't notice :p

100w PD is a thing now.

I have the 100w pd cables.

But only have 60w pd chargers....

A small inverter Is a good call.... But a bit lossy for a permanent install..... Perfect for a temp plug and go setup.

The 45w and 60w plug units, 12v sockets above both get hot when running.

I've not seen a 100w 12v unit yet ..?. It's prob too much for 12v socket.... So a hardware version would be preferable.

On this topic, does anyone know the power spec for the T6.1 USB-C outlet, is it USB-PB compliant and does that define the available power?

For instance, can I buy a lead like this;

to charge my surface pro laptop?

I can't find the spec in the manual, maybe VW are keeping it secret :(

I would guess it would be minimal, just because its a 'C' doesnt mean it will meet any power standards, the T6 was the same and only put out just enough power for phones etc but charged ipads sloooooowww

if you mean 12v plug in ones?

I've been using this one . . . 45W

I've got the inui twin 30w one for the 12v, aluminium, about a tenner on amazon. Works OK so far, if you try and fast charge 2 devices at once I think it drops down to something like 40w but it has USB and PD USB C ports

You can use a USB Power Tester to see what power you can get from the socket. / any USB or powerbank

I've got a tester ( obviously :think smile bounce: , but havent got a T6.1 )

.

Microsoft reccomend a charger of at least 40W (15V 2.6V) for the surface pro. I'm finding that most car socket chargers like this are split between 2 ports, i.e. a 40W charger means 20W per port.

I'm wondering now if I can fit one like this;

But struggling to find one that is at least 40W on the USB C and not a cheap Chinese fire hazard

My HP elite book jobby will run off 30w PD all day long, I can't see a surface needing more than a full blown laptop?
