VCDS and swapping direct TPMS with the Indirect TPMS transporter T6.1

hi All,

i have searched and asked on the post of the Indirect TPMS programation for the procedure to remove the direct one and was hoping someone could help me, or point me in right direction

here is my story
So firstly i have a few transporters but there 3 identical with direct TPMS and one new without but also diffect HP and layout
The problem is the direct ones cost me a lot in downtime or even when we need to change summer to winter wheels,

one of them has given me TPMS faults since day one, it went in to VW they reset it and it works a while, but now out of guarantee it again has come on on as sensor right back missing... now its done this from almost 15000km, (two years ago)
now at almost 30000km and its come back and we needed van, client refused to take it and i know i was wrong when i even took vcds out (and here is Mr stupid), i started comparing the 3 vans and as it became later i started changing a few boxes, and for the life of me i can not get it back to what it was,
i can not see the presure on the screen anymore,

so i looked around how to setup indirect and this can be done, here is the link , T6.1 Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Activation (Indirect TPMS)

in fact i did the procedure it works as i had both on the infotainment screen, but i can not find a procedure to remove the direct system, i dont want to be ilegal at all, i am just so over these direct systems , my other van that has the indirect tpms and it is perfect, we can change winter to summer wheels and just reset, the other 3 always needs the sensors swapped out or replaced?? and we can not fit the 20's on, not that we will but if we sell some clients want the 20's
is there a way this can be done??
i have copied the 4 vans and their codes but the two that have TPMS working have diferent ABS codes, and when i copied the codes to the faulty car it was then where it dawned on me that i am the dumbo of the family... i did swap it back and got all faults cleared, but still at step one,

Perhaps take the first scan of the van and check the settings in there.
Just in case - backups of the all the VCDS Auto-Scans are stored in folder C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Scans - however, the actual folder could be a slighly different for French version VCDS.

All the coding and adaptation changes are recorded in folder C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug respectively in files CodingLog.CSV and AdpLog.CSV

True, you just cannot copy the codes from a van to another - first of all, ABS coding uses vehicle's identification number (VIN) to match the coding to the vehicle - pretty much like fingerprint - there are no two identical ABS codings. Besides the VIN also van's configuration is reflected on the coding - e.g. brake type, wheelbase, engine type, transmission type, 4Motion/diff lock, LHD/RHD, cruise control type, hill hold, hill descent control, etc. Also there are several different ABS controller types installed on T6.1.

So, could you please post
(1) full VCDS Auto-Scans (of all vans)
(2) adaptation maps of controller 5F-Infotainment (of all vans)
 
Perhaps take the first scan of the van and check the settings in there.

Today the byte 01 = A5.
All the other scans have byte 01 = A4.

i started changing a few boxes, and for the life of me i can not get it back to what it was,
Just to clarify - do you think there is now something in the ABS-coding which is not as from factory?

All the coding and adaptation changes are recorded in folder C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug respectively in files CodingLog.CSV and AdpLog.CSV
Can you find the mentioned files in ...Debug -folder? They would contain original codings and adaptations.
 
I think the 5F-adaptations are just fine for the indirect TPMS.

If you want to experiment:
so i looked around how to setup indirect and this can be done, here is the link , T6.1 Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Activation (Indirect TPMS)

in fact i did the procedure it works as i had both on the infotainment screen,
So the coding for the indirect TPMS has been verified to work. Please redo it.


a procedure to remove the direct system
Untick module 65-Tire pressure from 19-Gateway > Installation list > Save​
Check if the direct TPMS screen has disappeared.​
Run VCDS Auto-Scan. I think there will be a fault in 19-Gateway about wrong coding (or something similar).​
Probably you need to disconnect the +12V feed to 65-Tire pressure controller to clear the Gateway fault.​
--> Remove fuse SC52.​

ok working but also needed to go into 17 to untick the direct and bap TPMS boxes, installed your and Pauly indirect method and its all there, (not sure if i had to undo BAP tick but will add it later to test), will do whole procedure on second and third van to see if i missed a procedure.... thanks again.... owe you a beer or 20

ok went back in as i have no information on clocksreen, but when i tick the Bap setting it then says it does not have TPMS,

do you have it setup to have the info on the cluster?

Instead of taking photos you could use Windows keys Alt-PrintScreen to capture the coding subwindow. Then just paste into e.g. Paint and save.
