VHF query

For anyone in the know, does the tracking company track VHF signal as well as the police enabling direction to where the vehicle is or is that only through the use if GPS/GSM. I cant see the police actively patrolling using VHF technology looking for stolen vehicles

The VHF side of it would be triangulated from fixed receiver locations. It's not a case of patrolling with a system fitted to a police vehicle, rather than receiving information about a location to look in.
Patrolling with a single, mobile receiver would only give direction and wouldn't be much use for pinpointing.

Would the tracking company provide that information to the specific police force to do?

MetaTrak for definite work with the police and give them real time location to the vehicle. Once the vehicle is reported stolen and you've given them the crime number they contact the local authority
