We took two dogs to the Vet yesterday and wanted to see what they were up to in the back, as one was panting quite a lot.
We cannot see over the double passenger seat so wondered if anyone had solved this problem with a clever idea.
My co-driver suggested an angled mirror so she could just turn her head and by looking into the mirror would see down.
I am wondering if there is a live feed camera we could install and she could check on her phone instead.
This was achieved by taking a photo with her iPhone but it is not the easiest.

Using only things I can reach from this chair - FaceTime the dogs with two iPhones, one in the front, one in the back.

We removed the centre headrest. Makes it a lot easier for the passenger to peak over and look at the pooches. Driver could also peak when stationary.
We used to have a second wide angle mirror for keeping an eye on the kids in the past too.

Reverse cam that displays image in rear view mirror. Wired up with ignition live supply.

I use a Thinkware X100 although it might be discontinued but you can still buy them in places.

It has a large screen (which can be set to sleep and wakes when touched). When sat under the mirror it really doesn't get in the way and mine comes on with ignition and has parking mode etc.

It has picture in picture or focus on rear cam only and so I can adjust it to look at load cabin when travelling and then if no load to care about I can have it out the rear glass.

bonus it also gives is a good quality dashcam out the front and if you have rear glass out the back when you dont need it on the dogs.

I used to use Blackvue however they stopped making the model and the one I had part of it broke so moved to Thinkware

iPod Touch updated and charged - problem is I don't think the dog's can swipe to answer :(
Will look into the other suggestions. Thanks all. The grey matter just needed a prompt in the right direction.

I have a Blink system at home to assist with care for elderly neighbour. I have a wired mini Blink that is not being used so will try and use that instead.

When we leave our dog at home alone we use a free app called Manything. (Separation anxiety is a thing - especially for the hoomans!)

We use an iPad or work iPhone as the camera and it livestreams to any other device signed in as viewer.
