I looking for some advice with regards how to repair our vinyl front bench seat (2016 T6 Shuttle).
Unfortunately the pic below is of a burn / scorch mark from a powerful torch (lens placed face down on seat). Most if not all the vinyl seat repair videos online mend small holes / tears with a paste + paint and are on smooth vinyl. Ours is patterned and would also be a large area (or 4 x smaller areas?) to repair.
My first thought is to try and get hold of a swatch of the exact colour / pattern vinyl from VW. Carefully scalpel-cut a square out around the damaged area then trace exact shape onto new swatch and glue into place on a thin donor vinyl that could be glued under original seat top just wider than the cut hole.
Anyone got any advice or professional to consult (I'm based in the NE of Scotland)?
Or, anyone know the name / colour of the vinyl and how I might get hold of a small patch?
