VW assist tell me I need new NOx sensor on DPF

Vw assist tell me I need new NOx sensor. My VW 2022 is still under warranty so great, but VW can’t do it for another 6 weeks!!! I’m booked on a site next week and will lose the holiday. I get mixed messages from the tinternet on whether it is safe to drive with this fault? Should I cancel the holiday (around 250 miles there and back) and disappoint the wife, or take a risk? Seen one blog that says get the light turned off and carry on. Any advice appreciated.

Did VW Assist say it was drivable or not drivable?

That might be the crux of it as if VW have said don't drive it and you do should more damage occur it's unlikely to be covered by the warranty.

VW Assist said drive it to VW yesterday and they should fix it now they have a report from them. Assist don't realise just how far behind VW are though. 6 weeks and that's any VW within 50 miles.

Assist did that and told me it’s NOx sensor that needs replacing. 5 hour job to do apparently but as I’ve said they can’t fit it in for 6 weeks.
I know someone who says they can remove the fault but isn’t that just hiding the problem?

But what was the code? do yourself a favour and get a Carista so you can post codes when issues arise, it will help folk suggest remedies. If it is a true fault resetting it would give it the opportunity to throw up the fault again straight away. Personally I would drive it, if you need a new sensor then it would suggest that the current one is triggering faults that a working one wouldn’t. If it’s a P20EE fault which relates to the nox sensor plenty of us have reset it and continued to use the van with no issues. I’d still get it in the workshop under your warranty but use it in the meantime, of course it’s your choice but these vans throw up these faults all the time I’ve stopped worrying about them

On Assiss report it looks like P24AI. Or something very similar to that. Hard to read his writing. After that says PARTICULATE MATTER SENSOR CIRCUIT - NO TPI FOR FAULT, NEW SENSOR REQUIRED, DRIVE INTO DEALER

The last time I had the need for VWA, he scanned the ECU and wrote down the issue (Fuel pressure sensor) on his report not the code. When I asked why he said VW would sort.
I took it to my local reliable garage who rescanned and identified a temp sensor O/C - wiring!
Not impressed and def worth revisiting a competent mechanic
