Vw T6 washer not working but wipers are?

Hello,

I have seen a lot of posts about this but no solution to the symptoms that I have.

My wipers work in all speeds and go through cycle of cleaning but without the water. I cannot hear the washer pump when I pull the stalk.

I have checked 15amp fuse and tested this by putting it out with the wipers on and it cuts them out. (Read on here that they wipers and washer share the same fuse)

I have tried changing the washer pump as this is easy and quick to do. No luck there. (I tried 2 different ones just in case it’s faulty from supplier)

I have got 12v on my multimeter at the washer pump.

I have read about the bonnet sensor but my bonnet is closed and have not got a light showing it’s open.

I have made some test wires so I can work from inside the van and not rely on the misses to pull the wiper stalk. (12v on them aswell and nothing on either washer pump)

Any help would be appreciated.

Blocked pipes?

Hi
Did you get this resolved?
Same problem here
New pump but no joy
Same problem on a Skoda Kodiaq but pump is hidden behind the wheel arch liner. Main dealer says if it's the pump it should be a warranty repair (on service plan) but blocked pipes not covered. Further investigation by me before it goes in because I'm sceptical about the Skoda main dealer. Any VAG advice appreciated.

Hello,

I was so confused with this fault as I had the voltage at the motor.

I got an auto electrician out and he confirmed my wiper stalk was sending signal correctly so I was able to eliminate the stalk as fault.

I ended up bench testing my old motor on my wife’s Kuga battery and it worked fine. So I bench tested it on my VW battery and absolutely fine.

My temporary solution was hard wiring my wiper motor too the battery and piggy back the wiper fuse in fuse box. So I now have a wiper washer switch on one of my dash blanks. I ran the wiring though and cable tied it all out of the way. I also purchased a harness for the top of the motor so I had a good connection and then crimped the cables onto there (compared to when I was testing and just used female spare connectors). I then drilled and dremmeled the dash blank so I could glue my new washer switch onto dash blank.

It has been a good temporary fix as got it through MOT and been fine all year but I do want it working correctly.

I am currently in the process though of getting my BCM tested/reprogrammed as I have heard this could be my issue.

I assume you disconnected the battery at some point in the testing process so that ECU's like the BCM get reset?

Yes touched the two terminals (as read in other thread) then left disconnected for a few hours while watching football. Reconnected and same issue voltage at plug but no noise from washer pump.
