VW Warranty

Hi everyone

I'm looking for your thoughts on a problem I have and whether there is any chance of Vw covering my costs.

My June '17 registered T6 Highline panel van was in with the main dealer in March this year to have oil leaks repaired. They had the van for a week, I collected it on the Friday before we all went into lockdown.
The van had both of the crank oil seals renewed, new cambelt & auxiliary belt, new dual-mass flywheel & clutch kit (I paid for the clutch kit), and a new lock mech for the side loading door. I was disappointed that the van needed this work with 16k miles on the clock but was relieved that the warranty had covered the costs.
Like most people, I was unable to work as normal due to lockdown so the van had very little use until the end of June. A few weeks ago the van started making a squeaking noise at cold start-up, this is what it was doing prior to repair due to oil contamination on the belts. On looking under the van the oil leak is back and is probably now worse than it was originally.

I phoned the dealer this morning and was told that I need to let them inspect the van to decide if this is a warranty repair or not! The earliest they can look at the van is the end of August, they need the van for a day! they are not providing courtesy vehicles just now (the dealer is 55 miles away), they can't do the inspection on a Saturday so I lose a day's earnings.

My only option seems to be to hire a van but I feel aggrieved that I am going to be out of pocket due to VW's inability to properly repair my van.

Has anyone else had a similar situation and been able to get Vw to cover the costs of hiring a replacement vehicle?

Thanks.

ah the crank seal saga, i believe one of the bolts is supposed to be affixed with epoxy now to resolve this?
