Wallas hob with 120 bed set up

After months of looking forva van and watching the forums (to my wife's delight...) I'm finally off to get my van tomorrow.

I'm going through interior setup for the van. Its a swb and looking to leave 2 single seats in 2nd row and have a fixed bed at back. I like the look of the rib 120 or titan/smart possibly.

I'm looking for a kitchen furniture setup that will work with a wallas diesel hob/heater and 120 bed. Looking at evo design they have a 112 bed in the below setup.

Does anybody have wallas and 120 bed in swb or any ideas how i can make it work?

I’ve got a 112cm California bed with a Wallas XC Duo and there is no free space but that bed slides forward on rails. It’s not a EVO design and it still needs a bulge in the worktop to support the front of the Wallas.
If you set the Wallas too far to the side of the van the lid will not stay up when cooking, it would be possible to have the lid supported with a catch but that will limit the size of the pans you can use on the hob.
The two of use sleep very comfortably in a 112cm bed, it might be worth trying a 112cm and see if you really need the extra 8cm.

Thanks @DXX I was visualising the lid down and worktop being wide enough but hadn't considered the lid cover not being able to open if too close to van.

Maybe need to reconsider the narrow bed as pretty sure we want the deisel hob.

Do you know how wide your worktop is? Cheers

Worktop height from floor is 750mm
Worktop width at widest point is 415 plus 10mm backing strip.
Not the best photo but you can see where I measured the max width.

That's great, really clear. Thanks for that @DXX
Just a reminder that the floor is raised slightly from standard as I have Cali rails. I doubt it will make any difference as the angle of the body side panel isn’t much.

I have this Evo design setup with an XC duo and a rib 112. It’s a tight squeeze to get that in, so 120 will be difficult.
I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t be able to fit the xc duo on the left instead of the sink either as the cooker comes down quite low and the inlet and exhaust pipes take up a fair bit of room.

@DXX @Sim60 do you have your hobs mounted above the fridge? And have you noticed if this impacts how well the fridge works?

Can see the manual suggests not mounting above fridge however have seen images on evo and online where they have been.

My Wallas is not above the fridge and I wouldn’t recommend it is going to affect the fridges performance.
In addition check the Wallas manual for the positioning of the exhaust head relative to windows, having the Wallas in the forward position would not comply.
Regarding the 100sq cm vent for the space under the Wallas; I have a drawer type door which can hinge down. I’ve found that I don’t need to open it, probably as there is a gap around the door banding and the cabinet. I would advise following 100sq cm requirement but there is a good chance you won’t need it, depending on the free volume within the cabinet.
Here’s a photo taken during the build to show the internal spaces in the cabinets. If away travelling I fill the space under the Wallas to max 50-60%.

Thanks @DXX looks a really nice setup you have there and appreciate your words of advice and experience on it.

Sorry for the slow reply - I’ve got the evo 4.5 in a SWB as linked to in the previous posting with a 112 RIB. - it’s mostly fitted, but I still have to drop the tank and fit the diesel pickup - so can’t comment on actually using it.

The sink is above the fridge.
I’ve seen some photos eg Jerba where they have the Wallas above the fridge, but I don’t know the dimensions and the unit/ fridge seems to come a long way out - presumably to get the air inlet and exhaust behind the fridge.
As @DXX points out, you need to look at all the fitting instructions wrt opening windows and where the air in heater mode is being pulled in from .

Mmm, lots to think about and probably compromise to make. Considering doing the evo 1200 design and rotating the hob 90 degrees and fitting sink on above the drawers.
A few people posted they have hob above fridge and not had any issues. I'll be adding additional lagging and the way i see it I doubt I'll use the hob all that much as most use in summer and we cook outside.
I'm looking to do partial self build and the converter doing the roof is wallas installer so I'll see if he thinks this is possible. I'm not holding my breath on it but would solve my problems!

The Wallas flue hose must be no more than the 2m max length allowed.
The position should be OK relative to the fridge but you have eliminated the possibility of a swivel drivers seat, not something you can easily change at a later date.

Yeah, we are resigned to just the passenger swivel seat and compromising for bigger fridge and extra bed space.

Not sure if you know already; the CRX50 has an easily removable freezer box which creates more fridge space.
