Hi Folks,
I have the pleasure this Thursday of a piano delivery to Glasgow followed by another delivery to Edinburgh.
Raj, the company owner has decided he would like a 'bit of a Jolly' and has decided he will be my companion/co driver for the 15 hour round trip from Brumingham.
As a special treat(!) he is being wanting to be treating (his lingo not mine) us both to a good meal on the banks of Loch Lomond (but not too far up because I would like to be home for midnight).
Has anyone, local or not, got any recommendations for a good eatery around those parts?
Sadly it will be undertaken in the company Movano and not my own, I struggle to get pianos in mine...
Any thoughts folks?

TBH most of the facilities on the south end of Loch Lomond is tourist tat. There are two cafes in the village of Luss which are not bad; The coachhouse but that is only open until 4pm or the Village Rest which appears to be open later. Neither are fine dining however.

If you are coming back from Edinburgh then the Crown in Biggar is on the way home and pretty decent these days. And I hear that the pub on the A702 in West Linton is good but it has been years since I went there.

Ooh I’ve got you (since I live about 10 mins from Loch Lomond):
head up NW to the west side of Loch Lomond and then 5-10 mins west to Helensburgh and go to ‘Sugar Boat’.
About 45 mins from central Glasgow.
The owner used to run two Michelin starred restaurant in London before he came back to Scotland…

And you mentioned a walk. Do this:

Or if you want shorter then:
This is a really beautiful wee walk around a coastal peninsula on the Firth of Clyde.

And while that a wee bit up from Glasgow - on an already long day - it’s very easy driving: back from Helensburgh is almost entirely dual carriageway and motorway back.
PS take the M74 south of Glasgow NOT the M8 through Glasgow!

PPS I’ve just realised you want to go Edinburgh after!

The other good alternative is to go Balmaha on the east side of Loch Lomond.
Go up iconic Conic Hill:

Or again shorter:

Then eat in the Oak Tree Inn in Balmaha:
(Pub with ok food - altho I’ve not been in years - but not nearly as good as Sugar Boat!)

Then via Stirling to Edinburgh…

Thank you for this @AeonMach , owe you big time! X

So, with thanks to @AeonMach , we booked the Sugar Boat for 2pm. With plans to go later to The Potted Lobster, thank you @Sackmycook .
The reality turned out quite differently with the company Movano failing to start having stopped at Tebay services. Adblue had been overfilled by our 'designated driver' the week before and confused the sensors into their no start policy.
Greenflag to the (eventual) rescue, I perhaps should have said that Raj was pregnant, but being stopped at Tebay services potentially wasn't a priority call out on such a sunny warm day.
Ewan from Macadam rescue and recovery turned up, reset as much as he was able with his Top Don VCDS-esque equipment, but after an hour no joy.
Later that afternoon, 4pm, the van was collected and taken to a storage depot, and we waited until 7pm for a hire car to be delivered to us at Tebay for our drive home.
As lovely as Tebay services is, and the quality of their sausage rolls, 8 hours there was quite enough!
Nice relaxing day today, pop and see @BoroBoy having magic performed up the road from me at @CRS Performance , then relapse with the cricket at 3.30 this afternoon.
Moral - Even knowing you have a full tank of Adblue, the fault doesn't clear itself, even after an 'Italian tune up', don't risk the counter going below zero! And don't forget to try a sausage roll at Tebay next time you're there!
