Webasto Heater fitted - surprise!

HI,

I had my 2017 T6 Caravelle exec up on the ramp this week and I noticed a webaso heater fitted next to the tank, I had no idea it had one and it certainly wasn’t specced as an option.

On further investigation is seems they are standard on the exec model... but I can’t work out how to use it! The manual doesn’t cover it, there’s no button inside of on the fob. Can they be operated independently or does it just use it itself when the van is first started?

Ideally I’d like to be able to operate it remotely.

Any advice would be appreciated

Do you have a sticker on the end of the drivers door.
If it is a thermo top.
It is an auxiliary heater, which will come on when outside temp drops below 5° and help warm the heating system up.
You can add a kit to it to make it into a parking heater with timer or remote.
