weird seat fault

hello all
my drivers seat has an odd issue - i live to sit quite straight up rigid so i give the adjuster a turn however shortly after, the back of the seat returns back to its original position

any ideas?

Electric seat or manual adjust?

I only ask as I had an issue with an electric adjust seat once that ended up being a dodgy plug under it.
