What does Speed Adjust do?

Hi,

I have a t6.1 startline and am trying to work out what the “speed adjust” function is under the driver assist menu. I have googled and searched the forum and downloaded the pdf manual but can’t find a mention of it. Does anyone know what it does?

Is it not linked to your ACC? That would be my thought as it has speed limiter option undeneath and the ACC cruise icon at the bottom.

I think it adjusts speed, but I’m just guessing!!!

(Ok, piss-taking aside, it flips between “speed limiting” and “cruise control” - both very valuable in an “average speed check area” like motorway roadworks. The speed limiter is handy if you have a heavy foot!)

Chris,
I am the proud owner of a converted T6.1 Startline with Business Pack. My instrument panel appears the same as in your picture.

So although it says front assist - not only does it not work :) - the mirror does not have any surround to fit the camera or radar section.
Is the ACC fitted with the Highline?

Front Assist does work on a startline, it uses the front grill radar and self breaks to help avoid a collision.
Also, startlines have the rear assist, which self breaks if you are reversing into something.

Green Giant,
I did wonder as my limited experience with VW vehicles (my son has a Golf and now we have the T6.1) is that they are well designed. My logic being that if the vehicle system suggests I have Front Assist then it should work. My mistake is I was confusing Front Assist with ACC - as that does not work.
What is the easiest way to test that my Front Assist works without causing any damage?

I have a Startline with business pack and it does not have rear assist as when I first bought it in Nov 21 I reversed it up my steep drive and hit the front of our bungalow.

Interesting, because I have a March '22 Startline with business pack and mine has definitely kicked in once when reversing into a parking space with a low wall. Maybe something to do with the steepness of your drive?

My Startline Business Pack equipped is like yours Rioja John as I have just tested it and it did not brake before the tow bar touched the wall.

You can turn the rear assist On and off in one of the menus, I would check it is on.
I could be wrong.. but I’m sure it’s standard on a 6.1 if it has rear parking sensors
I have a 2021 6.1 startline with business pack.

It’s in the parking and manoeuvring menu, manoeuvre braking.
I’d imagine it only kicks in if your moving above a certain speed, maybe 5mph?
So you would have to be brave to test it out, unless you can use something like a giant beach ball..FC7544C9-8D4A-4F9D-8ACF-90A4200E01DB.jpeg
