Hi all would like to know your thoughts, i have been looking at the alpine halo units after talking to their installations team at a show see to be a decent unit and has its own wiring harness not the connects2 unit..

I just watched the transporter hq video in the kenwood unit and was not keen on cutting the dash to bits.. the other thing that struck me was a comment they say its the only VW approves unit to work with the SOS button..

My 2 questions are:
Is the connects2 vw approved like thq are saying?

Does the alpine harness integration work ok?

We can sort this Alpines fitting kit and connects SOS retention

Out of 10 T6.1s we fit 9 Halos , to 1 Kenwood, the halo 905 fits the dash far better, the SOS retention is the same kit as the Kenwoods .

The other issue is the Kenwood uses a third party vehicle interface which is graphically poor, and you have to use it via the MFSW , the Alpine is like factory through the touch screen, and factory looking graphics

We recommend the Alpine and can retain the SOS , vehicle settings and USB C sockets .

Thanks all.. for the information..

Just watching the video and the dash being hacked at with a hacksaw blade may me cringe..

Ill keep looking at the halo then..
