When is my first service due?

Hello folks

I've had a scan online but it all seems a bit vague, can anyone enlighten me as to when I should book it in, or do I just wait for a light on the dashboard to tell me?
I'm sorry if this has been asked a million times, I did a forum search and nothing came up.
Thanks in advance.

Your display will tell you. The factory standard is up to 25k/2000 miles, however most, if not all, of the T6's on our fleet has flagged up an oil change halfway to the service.

It can't hurt to get engine oil and filter changed sooner (only your pocket) especially if your going to keep van for several years. I wouldn't run 20k on same oil and filter but that's just me.

Well I did a service every 12.5k on the t5.1.

I was shocked to find out the t6 is every 20k now.

I will be doing an oil change every 10k. Keep the turbo happy.

Thanks for your replies, I'm at 6500 miles at the moment and I've had it since March.
I reckon I'll be hard pushed to hit 10000 after a year of owning it.
Most of the miles I've put on it were just two journeys.

If you're doing a lower mileage then an intermediate oil change is definitely a good idea.

Thanks for the advice, I guess book it in yearly for the kind of use I'm giving it?

Your service light will tell you anyway - Go into vehicle setting on the multifunction display.

Hi all
How can I tell if the van has had non-vw garage service? The book is stamped but there was a lot of confusion at the garage I bought the van from!!!
