Can anyone recommend a tow bar for my 18 plate t32 Kombi ?
I need one to carry my atera tow bar bike rack but I have parking sensors so would they be a problem.
Cheers

Welcome onboard.
From your profile, you are based in Carlisle.
My towbar company is in herts so not really too much use.

I have the Atera, it’s great.
Re the parking sensors, they are no use when the rack is on, but just train your passenger to turn tthe buzzer off when you reverse.

Oh and ALWAYS make sure that the rack is clicked home so that it doesn’t roll back.. DAMHIK

Another thread I’m watching with interest - I’m looking for one too. Did wonder if a fixed swan neck would false trigger the park sensors?

Currently erring towards Westfalia detachable and 13 pin dedicated electrics.

How much was it ?
I have looked at these but varying prices adding to the confusion

I’ve noticed its one price for the bar and then the electrics are an add on either 7pin or 13pin / universal or dedicated. From what I can tell ‘dedicated’ is a loom designed to work with a specific vehicle and will look like an ‘OEM’ fit with plugs to intercept the vehicle loom at the right points.

My Westfalia detachable jobby was about £475 including fitting, electrics and vat.

It was about a 4 hour job and doesn't set off my parking sensors, when I tow my caravan or bike rack the sensors are switched off and the radio display shows you are towing/something is attached to the towbar electrics.

Exploria have a good rep :)

Cheers, it looks like the fixed Westfalia one is about that price now.
Detachable ones are a good bit more.

G'Day Dubbers, just got our new 68 plate kombi and I'm looking to get a tow bar fitted. the van doesn't have trailer prep so I'm wondering what's the best options?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Westfalia detachable on ours.

Some members have had issues with fitters, just make sure you select dedicated wiring and not the cheaper generic, and that they can code it in.

If going for Westfalia get them to include the additional foam packers, not the plastic fitting piece but the bits needed to hold the bumper up on the bar. They aren't listed in the installation manual. I believe the TowTrust bar may not need them.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!
