White stained black centre caps

Hi all,

Just returned from a hand car wash I've uses for years and whatever laquer they used on the wheels has left the centre caps stained white!

Any clues as to what will get it off and not ruin it?

Oooof, that’s annoying.
Those ‘magic eraser’ block (basically blown melamine) are pretty good. You wouldn’t want to go too hard at it in case you make the area glossy.
Halfords will sell various brands of ‘back to black’ treatment for vehicle plastics- might work after removing any build up.

Other options I’d consider would be going back to the car wash and telling them to clean it up or calling a body shop and seeing if they have any suggestions.

Yeah I brought it up with the car wash lads and they were befuddled :)

Shame really as previous washes with them have been fine

Had the same problem on my sportline caps went absolutely ballistic in front of a full crowd until I got payment for new ones

Car wash did the same to mine. I think it was a high concentration of TFR that's melted them slightly. I tried all sorts to bring mine back but there's no saving them unfortunately
