Wild Camping In Lake District?

We're heading to the Lake District this coming weekend and are wondering about trying to wild camp on Saturday night. We'll be around the Coniston area. Anyone have any suggestions for discreet parking places within reach of a lake and decent pub?

I thought that a forum member had previously posted a number of places to wild camp/park with some local knowledge (lives in the Lakes).

If you're parking on a road or public place, use a bit of judgement, my pal Jerry had the local plod knock on his camper door asking for a breathalyzer sample... luckily he was under the limit but it could have been ' in charge of a motor vehicle whilst under the influence...'
