Window switch working but has to be held down - no longer auto

Hey all,
My T6.1 drivers side window switch is still working but I have to keep it held down to send the window the full direction. It no longer goes the whole way with just one press.
Anyone know if this is a simple fix or do I need a new switch or do i have to buy the full switch unit?
Thanks

If like the Golfs these forget themselves occasionally, try; push and hold the switch all the way down and keep it held down for five Mississippis. Then hold all the way up and keep up for another 5 Mississippis.
Then try auto down and up.

Sometimes they need resetting/calibrating

Exactly this

Also stops the mirrors folding if you have folding mirrors but the window position calibration is lost as it's done through the same control module. Which is slightly less obvious...

Has anyone had the scenario where doing this reset fails to work?
On the passenger window, holding the down button depressed caused the windrow to drop a couple of inches then stop. You have to release and then depress the down button again to get the window all the way down. This obviously stops the ability to do the reset.
Not my van, a friend’s T6. Has us baffled.

I had this on our tiguan and messed around with it for ages. I gave up in the end and bought a cheap replacement off if ebay......works perfect now so assume it was faulty.

It doesn’t stop the reset process, just get the window fully open then press and hold button for a couple seconds, then get the window fully closed and again press and hold the button for a few seconds
It doesn’t need to be one movement nor does the hold need to be an extension of the window moving they can be separate actions

If I remember correctly all that is needed is to hold the switch fully up (rather than down) for about 5 secs with the window closed to reset.

Yes this should work for the one touch reset. It did on my van but not the car. I tried so many times, gave up and bought a new switch.

Thanks @Pauly we’ve tried that several times and it won’t reset. Driver’s side reset no probs.
My mate isn’t bothered so will leave it. I just hate not getting to the bottom of something.

Have you checked the van for faults ?
Not sure what would stop it from working other than faults or incorrect coding maybe ?

Could it be that the window is a bit sticky from lack of use, and just needs a spray of silicon in the tracks?
