Windows don’t work right

This has been a problem in my T5.1 works van for years.
The passenger side window only works from the passenger side occasionally. And if it does it will go down but not up. It works intermittently from the drivers side.
Sometimes I can’t get it to go up.
Occasionally the drivers side plays up too.
Any ideas guys?

Try removing the switch and jumping the terminals to see if the switch is damaged.

Would broken wires just not stop the windows working at all?
The problem is intermittent
