I'm in the process of repairing my drivers side wing mirror. I got a quote from VW garage for £665!
I have managed to remove the broken wing mirror and ordered new parts for around £35. In order to remove parts I had to cut 3 small coaxial wires, (RG174) and I will need to resplice these when building back. My problem at the moment is that the van will not start and gives a message to say thet the airbag is disconnected? Seems wierd that the air bag wiring is connected through the wing mirror? I'm assuming that the error will correct itself once I reconnect the wing mirror wiring, does anyone have similar experience and can offer advice?
