T6 Highline, 2018, H4 lights, rotary switch with the automatic setting.
So, the genesis of this issue was a long drive home in the fog on Sunday. Used both front and rear fog lights for the first time in ages and the lightbulb warning light came on the dash - assumed it was one of the fog light...
Bonjour
Pondering the question as per the title really.
I have some Vanstyle LED DRL headlights - I think they call them V4, but they are to all intents and purposes identical looking to the THQ V3 and others.
Like lots of people, I've put LED bulbs into the dipped and main beam - I'm using...
Just fitted these to my T6 mine has the H4bulbs, they are quite a bit brighter as you will see in the following pics, and just to advise when changing the drivers side remove the air filter box to save time and frustration, took only couple of minutes to take airbox off and then it's so easy to...
Lights look H4 and you've used H4bulbs so theyre H4 despite what any doc says.
As for the connectors doubt its towbar or HU. Try tracing the wire back. Where does it go? Or a pic if possible.
2018 kombi high line
My father owned it from new and supplied by Swiss vans. never had any damage or anyone touch lights apart from new h4bulbs.
When I put the reg in for headlight bulbs it comes up as h7 fitment.
When stood at front of van looking at passenger. Bulb far left is drl that...
Many projectors are mounted through the H4 bulb hole, so the reflector remains in place and the levelling adjustment works as it does now.
Having fitted projectors in a few other headlight, I did attempt to do the same with Transporter ones, but for the like of me I couldn't get them appart.
I’m in the same boat, really need to upgrade the headlights. Just fitted some better H4bulbs to go on with for now ( Phillips race bulbs). Not tried in the dark yet but not expecting massive improvement.
I may wait for the THQ led’s to become available to buy. Does anyone know if these new...
It’s not purely the H4bulbs but the design and relatively small size of the reflector on the T6 that makes them poor. Our Up! has H4s but the reflector is about twice the size and the performance is much, much better than the T6 and no need to consider Up!grades.
Hi all, just been changing the H4bulbs in my van I recently bought (T6 2018). Whilst changing the drivers side, I noticed one of the pipes from the air filter housing loose (item 20 on below exploded view).
Can someone please tell me what the pipe is and where it’s supposed to fix to?? The...
As title, 2018 Highline Kombi
Fitted towbar (factory preparation /PF Jones short loom)
Also I’ve fitted my Philips LED H4bulbs from my T5 which trigger an error.
I have Carista, and have enrolled on the Beta scheme but have no experience with its capabilities.
I suspect that I’ll need...
MOT passed with no advisories, just waiting on the major service to be completed. Only done 3100 miles since last year
Been ‘buzzing’ about in this since 8am  I’ve nicknamed it ‘the ginger t**t’
Looking forward to getting my van back and refitting the small...
I recently purchased full LED headlight units to replace the factory headlights, which originally had H4bulbs. These new headlights are advertised as plug-and-play, but the seller mentioned that programming might be necessary for the high beam if the factory units used H4bulbs. To avoid any...
I have the GT200 as well and am very impressed, even with mine being H4bulbs.
I’ve always had the ‘upgrade’ offerings from either Philips or Osram and find Philips to have the edge in terms of beam quality and lifespan so just go for their best claimed bulb at the time.
Interestingly when one...
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned about why they need coding, but with H4's when you switch to main beam, dipped beam goes out. As you probably know, H4bulbs have separate filaments for dipped and main beam. If both are lit together, the bulb will get too hot and go pop. The H7 lights have a...
I have the Philips GT200 as an upgrade H4 bulb and it’s good enough for me. I sold a Citroen Xantia back in the day just because the headlights were so bad - that’s how fussy I am.
You can buy Philips LED upgrades now but despite them lobbying for years they still aren’t classed as road legal...
I bought this set of H4bulbs and there is a significant improvement, I will not change to H7 for now
OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER 200, H4, +200% more brightness, halogen headlight lamp, 64193NB200-HCB, 12V, Duo Box (2 lamps) [Energy Class A]...
H4 what? Halogen bulbs? LED bulbs? Do you have a picture?
I’m assuming LED as CE marked halogen bulbs are built to a standard so won’t be too long. If LED there is info on the forum (try the threads linked above) about removing the shield and/or rear cover to allow them to fit. Worth noting LED...
In my humble opinion (which is no doubt wrong) only half of the reflector in a H4 headlight is dedicated to providing a dipped beam pattern. 100% of the reflector in the H7 headlight produces the dipped beam. The surface area of the H7 reflector is much larger than the effective dipped beam...
