The tafmet simulates the egr, so I believe the ecu still thinks it there, but the egr is electrical disconnected and blanked. I don't know what tuners do to remove it
In the case of the CFCA (180ps) the Tafmet EGR delete solution is well proven, there’s plenty of info on the Forum and the equipment has been installed for years in some cases without any issues.
Fitted the Tafmet Emulator today, all working fine.
Installation was a right PITA because the shims and gaskets supplied by Tafmet are quite thick, probably about 2.5mm or 3mm thick together.
This made it almost impossible to get the blank in on the harder valve side without removing the pipe...
...another can of worms. As others have said if the bores are wet with oil or the piston crowns caked in carbon the compression test may not reveal much.
The DPF is a better indication, if this constantly regenerating and the crankcase oil level is reducing it’s 99% too late for the Tafmet solution.
I am a little confused as to this Tafmet kit, do I need just the 2 plates and this emulator. Not concerned about the management light as will get that deleted at some point. and where to buy it please.
