Healthy 180 CFCA owners?

I've realised my egr was replaced a short while ago and I've changed the oil since so oil analysis possibly won't show much or tell me it's ok when it might not be.
I don't have any oil use, and not noticed any lack of performance so think I'll just get the tafmet kit and see how it goes

Best time to act before you already have an issue.

Just installed the Darkside Developments EGR delete plates with an Autotech Tuning remap out of the EGR valve plus engine and DSG. Instantly the engine and box feels livelier in throttle response and torque. Monitoring the oil situation. No loss in oil over the last 1000+ miles. Will send another sample to Millers soon.
How have you been and happy new year

No there isn’t
I think it’s well documented that the engine is doomed unless you install it.
Once it’s installed, there needs to be two further oil changes in quick succession, say 2000 mile intervals, then take another sample after a further 2000 miles.
Make sure the data entered is 100% accurate.
If you know there is already a loss of compression or excessive alum / iron content then there’s a good chance it’s a waste of time. That’s why the kit needs to be in place before there’s an issue.

Thank you for advice it’s very much appreciated

Do 2 compression tests a couple of weeks apart. Mine was showing good compression, but on the second, it was showing really poor. He thinks it was oil that must have leaked, though, and created a seal.

My standard compression test showed all good every time i did it. Engine was still guzzling oil at an alarming rate. In the end I just got a new VW engine and turbo's fitted. After all it had done 140k miles and was always going to need extensive work the second you opened it up chances are

IMO you don’t need a compression test, if the oil analysis comes back with good results there isn’t any significant bore wear. Pulling out glow plugs to do a compression test will open up another can of worms. As others have said if the bores are wet with oil or the piston crowns caked in carbon the compression test may not reveal much.
The DPF is a better indication, if this constantly regenerating and the crankcase oil level is reducing it’s 99% too late for the Tafmet solution.

What is the average mileage between regens on a healthy CFCA engine assuming a good mix of long motorway and shorter town journeys
