...MPPT.
I’ve always used the mppt built into my ctek until it went bandit recently. The most I ever saw in summer direct sun was 5A from my 100w panel.
I bought a Victron 100/15 in Spain as a temp solution and regularly see 7.5A.
I have a similar power use to you, albeit I’ve got a LiFePo...
...will be to try and sort Solar too (split charging leisure and a battery pack (eco flow). Got a quote from hillside but seemed very high for a 100w panel (when I think more would be more sensible and I ‘think’ you can source full diy packs for a decent chunk less). I don’t know where the best...
The Victron is one of the solutions I've been looking at, so good to hear. I think I need to research a bit more, and maybe I'll eventually understand the subject more.
...days. . . .
example battery link cable,
get this, then cut off the socket.
use the ring terminals to battery/busbar/fuse box. - and connect the cut end to the solar MPPT battery terminals.
this 10A fused cable is good for the 100W - so is fine for that 80W panel.

Having read so many posts and threads, I am now totally confused. In summary, I would like to use solar to charge or top up my ecoflow river pro.
Will the renogy 100w suitcase portable solar panel be enough or do I need a one with more Watts. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks everyone.
In normal circumstances the van gets driven more than once a week. In an unlikely set of unfortunate coincidences I messed up and left the electrics on after testing the diesel heater and the van was not used for a couple of weeks. And it’s rained constantly during that period so solar was...
i have the 100w Renogy Suitcase, which had a fuse on the battery clip.
it come with crock leads and a basic controller, but i swapped out the controller for a victron and swapped the crock leads out for a fused anderson conector directly conected to the battery..

So far so good and does pretty much all we need.
Linked to the hook up for on-site charging (rarely needed) and 3 x 100w solar on the roof
Hoping that when they finally sort the app they have a bluetooth attachment if it's not built in the older ones. Mines in a...
The type and size of battery would let people give better advice. Can you take some photos.
In the picture you posted in each bar the bright white bit is bulk charge. The middle bit is when it’s nearly full and so has dropped into absorption. The darkest part at the top is when the battery is...
100w PD is a thing now.
I have the 100w pd cables.
But only have 60w pd chargers....
A small inverter Is a good call.... But a bit lossy for a permanent install..... Perfect for a temp plug and go setup.
The 45w and 60w plug units, 12v sockets above both get hot when running.
I've not...
that panel looks very small. . .
10-15w id guess?
100w panel may get you 6A,
so 10w may get you 0.6A. . . .
(that solar controller says 8A, but you would need 150w worth of panels to get near that)
+++++++++++++
i think that panel is way to small to make any difference to you starter...
Maybe not a hack as such but having explored using an Ablemail AMT12-2 battery maintainer (in conjunction with the existing EHU mains charger) I abandoned the idea of connecting to the starter battery via the tow socket. I felt installing the AMT12-2 was a rather more elegant and practical...
Well they arrived, sadly as the sun disappeared so currently not charging just giving a low voltage alarm on the Bluetti.
Far more solid than expected though and seriously weighty - the included cover is essential.

...put vehicle wrap vinyl on the roof first before sticking the solar panel to the vinyl, makes for easy removal and clean up should the panel need to be changed.
I changed my 100W panel to a 200 W one and it came off clean, replaced the vinyl and restuck the new panel on with no damage to the roof.
...at about a 25% duty cycle with the thermostat.
Then add in the 230ah lithium battery that will be used to trickle charge the delta2 upto 8A or 100w....
Then with two....
230+230ah = 460ah ( that's 5520wh).
Assuming we fit both...
Run the numbers on that and see how long we can get....?
...club.
They are awesome mobile power boxes.
The only issue using them as a substitute leisure battery is charge speed.
Limited to 8A via 12vdc. About 100w .
1000wh battery, charged at 100w is 10 hours with the engine running or with solar.
So keep an eye on your loads and your re charge...
