To clarify, I have no doubt the seller is genuine. He even offered BACS or PayPal. For some reason I opted for BACS. Maybe I was overconfident in DPD. Pretty sure they will only offer me £50 minimum as and when. Never too old to learn a valuable lesson....

Exactly the same here. The significant online purchasing risk is how often your card number is exposed to goodness knows who. PayPal give a way to purchase online without the merchant ever having sight of your card details.

Hate DPD with a vengeance. How did you pay? You may be able to reclaim payment. I try now always to pay via PayPal - if item fails to show up, I make a claim and to date 100% reclaim paid back. Feel for you, having been there myself.

Srrange, I've found the opposite with PayPal, far too ready to give buyers their money back. Anyway eBay are now dropping PayPal

I prefer PayPal as it saves me from having to expose my card details to random seller sites. Plus you get the ability to dispute sales where you might have previously used a debit card with no recourse if there were issues.

FYI: Paypal POOLS service will stop on 9th Nov 2022. any funds that have been paid into the POOL will be transferred by us to Brook Meadow towards your ticket or returned to you directly. most people have opted to have us pay BM on there behalf. Does any body know of a trusted replacement...
