    T6.1 DSG Failure?

Van due back tomorrow. Diagnosis was an earth strap not fixed down correctly - which sounds viable. They’ve had it on a couple of long test drives and see no further issues. Looking forward to getting it back. Have certainly learned at lot in the process! All the comments have helped enormously.

    Starting problems

...I either enter from the slider or the passenger's door ( easier to get in from the pavement ) so I doubt that fuel priming is a problem. Common problem on the old T3s - usually poor/corroded contact on an earth strap somewhere allowing voltage to read ok but current cannot pass sufficiently well.

Continuity Bonding of the gas system

https://electrical.theiet.org/wiring-matters/years/2018/72-september-2018/the-18th-edition-bs-76712018-launch-revisited/ I’m guessing they have checked continuity between the gas system and chassis and got infinity. It‘s an easy job to fit a bonding strap and earth cable.

Is leisure battery install linked to static shocks getting out van?

Cold dry air increases electrostatic charging. Not a lot you can do about it apart from changing what you wear. Those straps only work in the wet, even then I think it's doubtful in terms of area of contact, they definitley don't make a decent earth connection in the dry. And when it's wet, you...

    Earth bonding gas pipe

Yes along with bonding straps if they fit your metal pipework, be careful there are no insulating components like plastic tube fittings, if that’s the case you’ll need to bridge them to maintain continuity. https://www.screwfix.com/p/greenbrook-internal-earth-clamp-12-32mm-20-pack/65778

T6 Not starting - advice needed from starter/ignition folk.

Earth strap between the chassis and engine at the cam belt end? If you take a single jump lead and run it from the battery positive to the positive terminal of the starter motor you can test that path. Then do the same with a negative from the battery to the casing of the starter motor, then to...

    Lots of errors!!!

...cycle - I have had the ignition on and off a lot recently without moving so could be quite low. I did read if charging to use chassis / earth strap connection and positive, NOT directly to positive and negative as it will confuse the battery module - is there any truth to this does anyone...

    Shuttle Shenanigans

Was always my plan but expedited it as VW cannot get me in for diagnostics for 2 weeks which means daily jumping or overnight trickle charging. So I added an earth mount. Strap goes to the engine hoist (m6 torx already installed) and has a rubber cap. Also added the hardware for...

    CBE Dimmer wiring

I'm aiming for battery, fuse box, bus bar and DC-DC under the drivers seat, earthing to the stud there. All my electrics are on that side of the van, bar one USB socket. Can't wait to get started TBH, once the RIB bed arrives. Can't strip the seats out and reflow any sooner, or I'd have to...

Vw t6 trying to fit an amp

...So when I test the 12v + wire using the - on the battery I have power running through the cable. Which then makes me think it’s my earth strap off of the seat base, so I’ve undone that and tried earthing off of other earth points I know work but I still have no power only when I connect using...

    Flat Main Battery Sanity Check

...I plan on getting this NOCO 10 amp charger to fully charge and then maintain this charge by plugging it in every few days. Using the earth strap by the battery for the negative earth point Seems pointless getting the van jump started to only end up in this situation shortly after as i'm...

    Renogy DCC50S + 100Ah Smart Lithium Install

Few updates today, I swapped over the 240v earth block for a proper 100A busbar and also took advice from a knowledgeable friend and decided to improve the security of the battery by strapping in properly. Seat base came back out again and added 2 pieces of aluminium angle to create a secure...

First time help with ecoflow setup

Welcome. I have recently bought a Delta Mini instead of a leisure setup for my van. The Delta Mini lives in a cupboard in the back of the van and can be removed if necessary. I have installed a rubber strap that goes over the top of the Delta to keep it held in place - don't want it to become...
