My question is the bf Goodrich tries, what are we all running?
255/55/18
Or
235/55/18
I've looked at online calculators but a lot of the info goes over my head.
Any pics of similar setups? Also mine is 4 motion dsg...
I was just looking at the threads on the same subject and came across a much old post of yours talking about 235/55 and indeed 235/60 with a couple of images of a grey and white van - I assume the white one was running the 60 profile? I think the 60 looked more pleasing to the eye (I'm also on...
Thanks all your replies.
I wondered if the ride might be a bit harsh/crashy on 255/45/18 ?
My velle is on 235/55/17 at present which seems ok.
Also maybe slightly better fuel consumption on the 235 than 255 ?
Anyone have any info on my TPMS question?
They're 245/65r17 - my van was low, it's now been raised back up
I'd recommend 23565r17 - you'll be fine lowered by 50mm, they shouldn't rub and they're only slightly smaller than 245/65 size.
If you're looking at 18" then I think 255/55 is the same size as 235/65 on 17" - or 235/55 in 18"...
I tested mine yesterday as I'm going to a larger 235/55/18 friday from 255/45/18 and wanted to know the difference.

Interesting to see what new ones will be.
Nice wheels! where did you buy them from?
yes OEM size for 18's is 255/45/18. although people have also fitted 235/50/18 and 235/55/18, do a search on the forum for more info. Main thing to ensure is that you get the correct load rated tyres for your van.
I’m a recent new member on here and just beginning to learn about T6’s.
I’m thinking of buying the below 18” Ronal R55 wheels as I like the simple 5 spoke design. (8.5 x 18 ET45)
Firstly do you think they would fit me 2022 Caravelle 4M ok ?
I wasn’t sure if they would fit inside in the wheel...
Considering going for a set of these...anyone want to guess at the tyre size fitted to the one in the pics?
I'm running Bilstein B6 and Eibach springs wondering if I could get away with squeezing a 235/55 on, or stick to 255/45...
Hi there.
Wanting to put all terrain tyres on my camper. I'm running standard suspension and 18inch wheels.
Been looking at
Grabber AT3 255/55/18
Or
Ko2 265/65/18
Just need help as to which to get, unless, there are other recommendations.
Cheers.
I did the switch from 255/45/18 to 235/55/18 recently.
Mine had worn out in no time in the centre and wanted some all seasons. 235 are cheaper and in theory as narrower will give better fuel economy, but circumference is greater so can't rely on the readout 100%. Speedo is nearly spot on GPS...
Bought 18 inch Sortline wheels but not sure which tyre size to go for. I did look on previous posts and noticed a lot of people use 235/50/18 instead of 255/45/18. Any reason for it ? I can see there is a tiny difference in price buy overall a very similar size. I was considering a 235/55/18 as...
The standard tyres 255 45 18 sit in the wheel aches of my sportline with rakes of room.
I'm looking at 2555518 as the side wall height difference is 1 inch this will still leave plenty of room by the look of it..
The 235 5518 only increases the side wall by 1cm which I don't think will look...
Does any have or know if a 2555518 will fit on a t6? I feel the 255 45 just doesn't quite fill the arches.
Set up is 9j all round and ET35 lowered 40-50mm. Looking at buying the pilot sport 4 SUV.
Theres various threads about 255/5518 but they're all regarding AT tyres and mostly standard...
I do around 30k a year on 20s (April till December) and then 10K over the winter on 17s. Having had 3 transporters and run everything from 16 to 20 wheels I can honestly say I feel very little difference between 235 55 17 and 255 40 20 in regards to ride. I have VW spec coilovers (KW / Eibach...
I'm fairly sure your TPMS system won't be affected by the changes in wheels and tyres, you'll just have to reset it. My TPMS works through the ABS system.
