Going mad over rim size for t32

...mix of handling and off-road/bad road capabilities? I don’t think the 19”s have enough sidewall to not destroy the car over bumpy roads but I may be wrong? A mate has the same van with 255/55/18s which scrubs on lock, so that has confused me even more as I see some guys saying they can run...

    Tyres for 18s Sportline Wheels - 255/45 vs 235/50 vs 235/55

I'm thinking of putting AT tyres on my t6.1 sportline. Going for the urban sport look... At the moment I have 255 45 18 tyres on the oem alloys. Looking at 235 55 18 AT3 tyres still on my oem alloys and some wheel spacers to pull the wheels out from under the arches a bit.. Opinions please...

Will 255/55/18 fit on a lowered van?

    Tyres for 18s Sportline Wheels - 255/45 vs 235/50 vs 235/55

I have 255/45-18 on my T32. We're looking at the 235/55 also as the ride is harsh on the 45 profiles. Over rough roads the van crashes and bangs over bumps, it's really not pleasant. We're running 30mm lowered front and rear.

    Will they rub

...My own opinion is that even if the tyres don't rub, (and I don't know if they will or not) 255/55/18 is a big step up from the original equipment and will make your gearing rather tall and will put your speedometer out by quite a bit. While some people don't mind I'd rather use 235/55/18...

    All-Season Tyre recommendations

I run Mich Crossclimates in 235/55/18 and they're ace! Had them a good few years now and they've worn very well and evenly too... I'd personally get the Crossclimate 2 now if I was replacing! Hope that helps.

    Will they rub

255 45 18 is the VW suggested fitment a taller 55 version could possibly be the source of chaffing and make the wheel arch feel a tad too snug... there might well be a slight misreading of the situation by the Speedo too?

    18” or 19”?

Well the fact that you’re only allowed to go +2 isn’t really an issue since, for a T32, there aren’t really any good (load-rated) options in 20” tyres anyway. Without going (IMHO) excessively big like 275/40/R20. So 18” or 19” is good! Depends perhaps on usage & style: In 19” there is a really...

18" JBW ROK Steels + Falken 235/55/18 tyres: will i need spacers?

Just about to pull the trigger on some of these wheels to run winter tyres too (but running 235/55/18 - I’d have preferred 255/50/18 but not much availability there - the 235/55 is a bit larger so gives me a wee bit more snow clearance in winter)… …but interested in the spacers since I‘m...

255 55 18 - about to order but this forum has got me worried!!

Can someone check my math/ lend me their experience I was about to order 255/55/18 tyres for my new wheels, then read people not happy with them on here... assume et plays a huge part and people only struggle with the inner clearance? Will they fit seems to think all will be fine, assuming the...

    Larger Tyre options with ACC

I've got 255/55r18 Falken wildpeak's fitted with no issues and my speedo is only 4% out on a 2021 T6.1. Mathematically 255/55r18 tyres will cause Speedo to under-read by a shade over 6%.What tyres do yoj have fitted to have that sort of variance? I've had no issues with ACC.

    All-Season Tyre recommendations

Just had some Hankook Kinergy 4s 235/55/18 104V fitted today - the difference to the Dunlop sportmaxx 255/45 I was running before was instantly noticeable, it's now a much smooth ride! I had Hankook Ventus on a previsous van and was always impressed with the brand. The Kinergy seem to be at...

    Supermetal Cell 255/55/18 or 235/55/18

The 255/55 18 looks great as a swamper tyre, but it's pretty big, so I would only recommend if you are at or above standard ride height. Here's a link to another thread on here showing a swamper we built recently with 18" SuperMetal compass and 255/55 18 BFG AT2 tyres, the van is raised 25mm...

Chunky AS tyres in an 18"?

Well first pick your tyre size: depending on load rating needs you're probably going to want something like 235/55/R18s (there really aren't good A/S options available in other sizes other than 255/45/R18 which is ok in availability terms but looks a little 'under-tyred' size wise IMHO). And...

All season vs all terrain tyres

Have you noticed any difference in fuel economy? What wheels did you have before? I have sportlines with 255/45/18 which look nice but considering I want to camp more they aren't the most practical for fields and car parks with 450NM torque:oops:. 65 profile suggests the speedo will be quite...
