Will they rub

My own opinion is that even if the tyres don't rub, (and I don't know if they will or not) 255/55/18 is a big step up from the original equipment and will make your gearing rather tall and will put your speedometer out by quite a bit. While some people don't mind I'd rather use 235/55/18 which is only slightly bigger than OE.

I’m currently running on 255/55/18.
Are the 235’s giving a possible more clearance on full lock I take it ??

Your first post was, "Will a 255/55/18 rim and tyre fit without rubbing with 30mm lowering on a T6??"
Your second post was, "I’m currently running on 255/55/18. Are the 235’s giving a possible more clearance on full lock I take it ??"
Your third post was, "Forgot to mention I’m also lowered 30mm"

So the best person to answer your first question is......you. :slow rofl:

Thanks for the great help.

255 45 18 is the VW suggested fitment a taller 55 version could possibly be the source of chaffing and make the wheel arch feel a tad too snug... there might well be a slight misreading of the situation by the Speedo too?

The standard tyres 255 45 18 sit in the wheel aches of my sportline with rakes of room.
I'm looking at 255 55 18 as the side wall height difference is 1 inch this will still leave plenty of room by the look of it..
The 235 55 18 only increases the side wall by 1cm which I don't think will look any different.
Is anyone running 255 55 18s and are happy with them?
I will not be putting grabber type tyres on but just getting the same tyres in the larger size.

I know that's an option but I do need it to be practical as a work van. It is already lower than I'm used to for a van and lowering more will just make the ride more harsh than it is now.

See CRS Steve and his Koni magic carpet ride shocks if you want a better ride, please don't fit tall tyres.
The Transporter is a fashion statement first, being a practical work van comes a bit further back.
