(How to) Front Door Lower Hinge Replacement

...bonnet pull and move out of the way. I then removed the earth wire nut (10mm) to get everything out of the way. Once done you’ll see a black grommet tucked in the corner, mine had sealer over the top of it to give you an idea of how close to the wheel arch it is. Remove this grommet. You then...

Barn Door Halogen to Tailgate LED Rear Lights - pinout

Makes sense. Light's now working but without the 2 extra wires so far. I will say that the de-pinning tool made it a doddle. Was having all sorts of dramas with the alien key or paper clip method.

    Retrofit rear PDC

Wow, thanks for the thorough reply, n10n! Loads of useful info! ...except, now I'm not sure I'm up to the job, LOL! Taking off the bumper is probably within my comfort zone, but as far as wiring, I was hoping not to deal with anything beyond just connecting plugs - no tapping into CAN network...

    Retrofit rear PDC

...something could be improvised from threaded rod and some plastic scrap pieces. Don’t do what I did with wire routing: I used the lowest grommet behind the bumper. But it’s not a good route, there’s a very narrow channel behind and hard to get wires through. Would have been better to use a...

Panel Clips that fix in tightly

All of the reviews on Amazon reckon they don't fit T5 ot T6 even thought the advert states they are compatible. Seems the grommets are between 9-10mm dia requiring the vans holes to be drilled.

    Water in Passenger foot well

...- might just be worth checking you're not getting a squirt out of that pipe though when you do it though. I think the more usual leak in that area can be debris in the scuttle or bad sealing around the wiring grommets behind the battery area, might be worth a check. But that pipe is intriguing.

Tyre pressure monitoring unavailable showing dash errors - ABS Light, Traction Control Light and Tyre pressure warnings.

Andy.....many thanks for that! I'll take a look. I've cleared it again with carista and re set the tyre pressures. I know it'll come back but it's good to know that it may well not be eye wateringly expensive. Also, many thanks to @roadtripper. Can you give me any idea of the cost of the...

...VAG, just with VW logo melted/defaced. Also, unless you have 4WD, try to not follow the threads re drilling it out. There’s a gert rubber grommet on the back of the hub! Pull it off and you can see the end of the sensor and push it up and out!! Cheers Andy PS Got mine from Autodoc, as...

Dent Repair with kitchen furniture installed..

...cooker and furniture are on van? Any ideas how a dent master could gain access ? I’ve attached a pic and highlighted roughly where it is, I spoke with the dent guy and he said about removing the wheel liner to see if there’s any grommets in the area so he could get to the dent that way ? Cheers

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Removed the solar panel from the roof - used a 20mm blind grommet where the cable went through and 4x of the roof rail rubber washer bolts with nylock nuts on the ends inside. When I fitted it I applied vinyl wrap where the brackets touched the roof and so the sikaflex was attached to the vinyl...

Fitting the OEM Auxillary Heating Ductwork

...internal. If mounting OEM position externally as above but the hole is usually plugged with a plastic bung which is useless for a loom - you need a proper wiring grommet. I use this one: Original 1.75" (45mm) Lucas Black Rubber Wiring Grommet : Part No. 54935995 | eBay this is the correct...

    Barn door alignment

...before I think you shouldn't need to move the hinges on the van, it's move moving the door on the hinge. I had a look and there are rubber grommets on the door that hide the fixings......just be careful, support the door and undo enough to move the door before nipping up. Repeat until you are...

Fixing solar panel cables to underside of Reimo roof

...them on the underside of the roof fixing them with electrical cable tie mounts (on sikaflex- I removed the self adhesive tape) and cable ties and then ran them in the spare grommet on the right side of the shut line (I had rear doors). I had to drill though into the van through the "second" skin.

T6.1 sidebar lights no longer working

Funny enough I had look today. I soundproofed my floor when I got it. Also a twin slider. My wiring it not as bad as the pic above and a neater job. I have take the step out and tested plug with a multi meter. Was showing 12v. I then looked underneath and they are actually on but very dim...

T6.1 sidebar lights no longer working

...off as I have twin slider and then lifted the matting. The Ford dicks had drilled holes to pass the wires through and had not fitted grommets which meant the wires had cut through on the sharp edges. It’s a dead easy job and you can lose about 20ft of excess wiring while you are at it. I made...
