...from being the light switch. Dead easy
At this point I was feeling good about the job and preceded to run the new wire to the E box through a grommet in the bulkhead on the drivers side and across the engine bay to the passenger side, all neat and tidy cable ties along the way. Battery out...
...are some possible adjustments down there. Also check all the various bolts are tight - I found a couple of loose ones. On mine there was a grommet popped out where the locking lever went through a frame. I still have a couple more squeaks to track down though.
Battery - if this is original...
Thanks Sipep. Anybody else know if there is any advantage to using the grommet behind the air box rather than the one behind the battery for cable entry to run to under the drivers seat, is their channels under the rubber mat this side of van.
The thing to watch with that cable is in general it must be protected from UV - there seems to have been a trend for using it outside as either a SWA-lite or "armoured artic" and it's not suitable for either as the clear jacket will quickly harden and crack.
They're specifically made as control...
I can't really advise you. But you can have a look what I have done, no, the cable is not near the pedal, comes out at steering wheel height and I've used a nature groove in the body work
...from my solar controller which is under my driver's seat to under the bonnet so I can connect my portable solar panel. Would this be better a route to use rather than the grommet behind the battery on my 6.1. Also were does it come out in the van, I am guessing it must be very close to the...
For those that might be interested there is a second grommet.
Just look for a route of least resistance. There is also a nice grove which naturally holds the cable (test fitting only, but would secure it )
Hi all,
I've had a little search in the forum but can't find my answer.
Is there a secondly grommet other than the one behind the starter battery?
I want to put my 240v hook under the bonnet but someone said mention that the 240v should be keep away from the 12v. I already have a 12v cable...
Aftermarket dedicated tow bar wiring kit runs along the underside of the van up into the engine bay to connect to the battery then across the engine bay, through the firewall on the drivers side to connect to the BCM. There is also a branch through the grommet under the passenger seat.
...DC-DC charger and fuse box under the passenger seat, used the existing channels to route the feed from the starter battery through the grommet in the bulkhead under the scuttle and down following the channel marked, covered it with an aluminium plate to protect it once in place. I did keep...
I went under the passenger seat. Wanted the space under the drivers seat for air out let for heater. I did mount the DC-DC under there though. Dead easy cable run through the bulkhead grommet
Should be a 10 min job. Remove the rubber grommets slacken the nuts and put to the original marks. I tend to find it easier if you leave 1 nipped up and move the opposite end to place then vice versa.
Do you know what I’m talking about? Those two little rubber grommets that secure the rack on the Dometic cooker? Mine lasted about 6 weeks from new before disintegrating. Maybe it was vigorous cleaning from the missus, but more likely poor quality rubber just not up to the job.
I tried to find...
I was attempting to route the cable for my DC to DC charger this afternoon. I planned to use the lower grommet behind the battery but it appears it is already occupied by an unknown wire.
The wire comes from below the headlight, along the wing and it enters the the cab on the passanger side. It...
