EHU cable-run in to cab area.

I think many do if they are also running a 12v charge feed as it's easy to route both at once so long as there is space. There are a list of alternative points in this thread: https://www.t6forum.com/threads/split-charge-cabling-sunroof-drain-pipe-grommet-issue.41261/

EHU cable-run in to cab area.

...collective. Just a quick question. And yes I have searched Those of you with split charging and EHU under the bonnet, did you use the same hole through the passenger side grommet? I'm about to run my EHU hook up into the drivers side base but wanted to check if there was another route. Cheers

Benefit to battery under passenger seat

Heat shield mate. There’s room to manoeuvre though. Nearside possibly has the AdBlue tank if you’re Eu6 and a heater on the offside if you’ve got a factory fit jobbie -

Benefit to battery under passenger seat

Never thoughts about using those two grommets @Ads_Essex  Is there a splash shield or diesel tank in the way underneath? Or can you readily access them both from underneath?

Reversing Camera - wiring harness route

...fittings - I'm sceptical as to how effective this can be. If nothing else you can likely wire externally under the van, possibly through the grommets under the seats for the van harness, and mount a small camera under the bumper. I've had a cheap but not nasty camera there in the XC70 for...

Benefit to battery under passenger seat

i actually ran it underneath the van using these two grommets, encasing the cables in conduit. This allows future cables to be ran between the two without needing the remove bases and lift the floor, as well as removing the worry that constant footfall will cause any wiring damage. That being...

Benefit to battery under passenger seat

Thanks @Ads_Essex ours too is a euro5, so that may work well. I was planning on lifting the front mat and routing through the bulkhead grommet, but perhaps don’t need to if what you’re saying is an option. I presume you then routed cabling to and from the driver and passenger side beneath the...

Benefit to battery under passenger seat

...easily and so I installed them underneath the pax seat (otherwise the furniture is in the way). There is one large (and perhaps a smaller) grommet / bung underneath both seat bases that will give you an inhibited cable run up in to the engine bay. I was lucky that my Eu5 had spare clips...

Benefit to battery under passenger seat

Hi Folk, I’ll shortly be heading down the leisure battery route, to enable diesel heater, lights and additional rear sockets etc. I see most people mount the battery under the drivers seat. Is there a main reason for this? We’ve got a captain seat up front, and I’m looking at the possible...

Reversing Camera - wiring harness route

...today. I wasn't having much joy running along the roof as the cable kept getting stuck (tried from both the B pillar and the tailgate grommet). I eventually found success by running from the tailgate grommet down the left hand side of the rear passenger window. There are a few large holes...

    Oval grommet in rear arch

Afternoon, I had an incident with one of the hoses releasing from a rear air ride air bag whilst I was driving. This caused the tyre to shred the large oval rubber grommet in the rear drivers side arch. Any idea what or where I can find the part number for this? Cheers.

    Reverse camera cable

I believe they’re specific to the camera and head unit, worthwhile pulling a draw cable through! Use a little white grease or lube to get it through the tailgate grommet

    Tailgate Condensation Camper Conversion

...collect condensation overnight with two adults sleeping in it. At first I thought it was rain water running in through the rubber cable tube grommet thing so I smeared silicone around it but nope it’s condensation. my theory is that condensation is running down from the tailgate glass and...

Coat stuck in Sliding door mechanism

mine was a conversion and should have had a plastic grommet as per pic 1 which you pop out and pull which opens the door because this wasn’t there and no wire to pull present I had to take the panel of and with a long screwdriver pushed the area shown in red on pic 2 to open the door this is...

    Solar panel fitting (barn doors)

Hi all, Recently purchased a solar panel from renogy, I am preparing the cabling internally, I've managed to feed the cable down the d pilar, I wonder if use the barn door grommets or feed the cable through the rear canvas ( mine is storm and his velcro opening at the rear)

    240 Hook up charging

Cheers mate. I'll look at doing that then. Although I may need to find another grommet as I've already got my wires from the battery going to the DC to DC going through the one behind the battery!

    240 Hook up charging

Just a standard 3 pin socket under the bonnet, there’s enough gap between the grill and bonnet when closed and there’s enough space to mount the socket near the van battery. There is a grommet in the bulkhead behind the battery. No need to spend a fortune or chop holes in your van.
