I think they are all the same now. It’s a well known issue and they are all trying to fob the customers off with extended warranties and most likely only helping the ones in original warranty.
...contamination issues are resolved.
Now with this vehicle i have an oil and filter change every 5000 miles, and I bought the 5 year extendedwarranty. I’m not keen to delete the EGR due to insurance/MOT/Warranty, but I would be prepared to replace it on a precautionary basis before long.
Its...
1. Not much to investigate, the cost of a new belt is so low it dictates that it should be renewed if removed. It would make sense for the tensioner to also be replaced at the same time. Any decent mechanic can do this and they would also check for mis-alignment.
2. Non guarded belts are not...
I’m guessing that wasn’t for a new van and included extending the warranty and roadside? I saw another thread mentioning the £9.95 a month for new vehicles which is why I looked and signed up.
...anyway. Next time I feel flush I’ll consider but that’s not going to be this year. But is it not official guidance in UK to change at 4 years and therefore failure now would not be covered by the extendedwarranty but as you say there are many discussions ongoing on other threads so I’ll stop...
Out of warranty yet?
Extendedwarranty?
First thought was low battery or starter motor getting iffy.
Has it still got the original battery?
Had the battery tested at all? - any problems starting after a few days?
Isn’t the official name a front crankshaft oil seal?
That’s pretty poor if VW exclude that specifically on the all in warranty. Especially as they do cover it on the extendedwarranty.
Is the van still under warranty (normal or extended VW) ? If yes I’d be using OEM parts. If out of warranty just use a Bosch one - I got my service parts incl diesel filter, charcoal cabin filter from Murray’s Direct on ebay - great service!
...this is a new version to the one previously fitted. Fitted Monday this week and so far all working well...
So far no cost as done under the initial warranty and had 2 sets of the extendedwarranty since. Though won't be able to take after this current one expires as van will be over 6 years.
Ok so extendedwarranty proved the right thing to do.....
Already had my headset unit replaced under that previous all in scheme that just ended, along with some sliding door controls. But still having issues on the door front so back in again and looks like another door control module needs...
evening all. Very late on the update. Fair play to VW ExtendedWarranty. They paid up with no fuss. The stumbling block was that the VW garage in question (not naming them), according to VW ExtendedWarranty, did not contact them to ask if they would pay out. It turns out they could. They...
Good evening all,
I recently picked up a Thule Velospace XT2 however my excitement was immediately squashed when I realised I can’t open my tailgate with the rack tilted. I leant on the rack a little to see if that’d help but no good.
I’m thinking of extending the retaining wire on the tilt...
...they moan about oil leaks.
But the good thing is this fan is only ever been serviced at Volkswagen garage I've had the factory extendedwarranty and all in warranty from day one.
And calling the VW assist Volkswagen silver van guys as worked out well for me today as he's the one that's...
My van is under the extendedwarranty scheme. It failed its MOT due to a damaged tyre. The dealer made no attempt to sell me a tyre or steer me towards any other work. I took the van to my local tyre shop and returned the van to the dealer the following week for a retest. No problem.
