...topped up when parked via the tow electric hook up - it charges the starter, and when the starter has enough voltage the CTEK senses and also charges the leisure battery.
Just hook a charger up to the starterbattery and you're done.
Starterbattery trickle charge is only if solar hooked up.
I am designing my own starterbattery maintainer circuit from scratch. It will work with lead acid leisure batteries only and not need any configuration switches. I'll post again when I have a working prototype.
NOCO - GB150 Boost PRO 3000A UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starter
Plus NOCO GB150 (storage/carry) official case.
VGC - as new basically. - been well looked after.
less that 10 charge cycles. (we had a few to play with)
this will jumpstart just about anything 12v,
can be used as:

The EHU route will only work to maintain the starterbattery if it is configured to do so, either with a dedicated mains charger or by some form of battery to battery charged (DC-DC capability or separate trickle charger)
If you want to get as much useful energy from your power bank into just...
...11v.
This seems very low but i looked through the manual again and it does say it there. Long term I think I’m going to replace it as don’t want to risk a flat starterbattery.
Short term I’m going to fit an additional isolater and manual stop the charge. Just have to remember to keep...
...the app open whilst driving occasionally (hands free) and I could see it going through the stages of Bulk Charge, Float etc.
My van starterbattery died the other week (My fault - don't use the van too much, and when I have it on charge I believe it only charges Leisure Battery unless I...
Thanks for the reply Captain, I do indeed have a 6.1 with solar and would live with 80% battery SOC but I’m down to 60% and on my third starterbattery.
I will invest in a AMT12-2 and try and find the settings for my Orion Smart charger.
I really dislike these all in one systems, but... After having a quick read I think it's trying to power the fridge from the starterbattery when you're driving, and from the Aux battery when not driving. Quite why you'd do that, I'm not sure. Just a quirk of a system which bundles everything...
...question. .
a lot of people get caught out when camping - even when on EHU that charges the LB.
everyone always forgets about the starterbattery - or just assumes that the EHU charger will charge the starterbattery - its doesnt (with most standard installs using say a Sargent etc).

...power sockets fitted to later T6.1s with a second auxiliary / leisure battery (under the passenger seat) appear to be powered from the auxiliary / leisure battery and not from the starterbattery. As I’ve discovered, you can’t charge the starterbattery via either of these dashboard sockets.
For about a month I’ve been monitoring the starterbattery with a BM2, as recommended on here, so that I know when I need to connect an external charger.
For context it’s a 2016 Euro 5 with Stop Start BM. It’s a campervan conversion and it doesn’t get used much this time of year.
The battery...
...Ecoflow Alternator charger into my 2024 LHD SWB VWT6.1 Shuttle. What I was hoping to do is pre-install a battery cable run from my starterbattery to under the driver seat (LHD in my case) and have a positive and negative busbar there (or similar, any suggestions welcome) so I can spur off...
Got all three batteries, starter plus 2 x LB to 100% yesterday with Charger, Sun and EHU.
Overnight the SB dropped 5% and the LB 8% with nothing on at all.
Turned the charger back on to see the charger was charging both the starter and both LB’s, is that normal?
I hope it’s not because then...
No disrespect, but i think you need to get knowledgeable "hands on" help. There is obviously something fundamentally wrong if you're chewing through starter batteries & the LB isn't charging as it should. Trying to diagnose it with drip feed info, is virtually impossible. It needs looking at...
...sound a bit laboured or slow.
so id be looking at the main feed to the starter motor or the state motor itself.
assuming that the starterbattery is good. ( you can test that by using jump leads or a boost pack to jumpstart the van alongside the starterbattery)
dont forget that even if...
What was the original battery and the replacement spec? You really need to update the power management via VDCS rather than expect the van to relearn.
