    Switching solar controller

They looks to be in the 50-100w range. So I'd go for the Victron 75/15 smart Bluetooth unit ..... https://amzn.to/3Q2fKTS . .....

Fixed solar upgrade. Flexi or rigid?

I’m going to be upgrading my vans power soon and changing to lithium. I have a flexi solar panel on the roof and presume it’s 100w. I’m wanting to upgrade this to at least a 200w panel and read through the various solar panel threads but am wanting to know what’s the best panel to upgrade to...

Solar starter battery maintainer install - thoughts?

yes. . . but keep the current below 6A/8A or the plug & socket will get HOT. a 50-100W dash panel is ideal. . . see here when i done it. https://www.t6forum.com/threads/guide-mobile-solar-panels-how-i-did-it.13225/post-195897

    Interesting solar panel

Told me £95 shipping on the online chat for two 100w panels. Somethings a miss, although most Americans don't know where Europe is let alone the little U.K

    Rate my leisure installation…

Depends on the MPPT, the smaller 75/10 and 75/15 don't get as hot, the 100/20 has a bigger heatsink as it's pushing more amps.

    Rate my leisure installation…

I couldn’t mount mine vertically as it was a bit of an emergency fit whilst in Spain. However, I only have 100w panel and even with external temps in high 20’s and 8 amps going through it, it didn’t even get particularly warm. So I’ve left it in the roof void mounted horizontally. I guess it...

CTEK D250 SE and solar panel.

It's 115Ah YUASA VBX Active Leisure L35-115 that was already fitted when we bought the van 6 weeks ago.

    Hillside Birchover

...they might put it as they could connect to the existing feed in the wardrobe without running any new wire to the front when fitting just a 100W panel. I asked because in another thread @Chris1983 said he was quoted £700+ from Hillside to fit such. That’s pretty extortionate considering the...

    In line fuse for solar

Thank you. I have a Dokio 100w but no fuse holder. Was going to put one in close to where it connects to battery.

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I’ve added another solar panel to the roof as 100w of solar sometimes did not cut it.

    Basic solar panel

Thanks for you input. That 100w solar panel has now sold on eBay so looking at others on the Renogy eBay site as they don't seem to do the portable ones on their main site, along with a separate charge controller rather than inbuilt, so I'll look into the MPPT ones. I was thinking I could...

CTEK D250 SE and solar panel.

...have ended up with a fried brain, so apologies if the answers already out here. I have the D250SE installed, and have just purchased a Dokio 100w foldable solar panel. I read a bit about COV, and took note that for the D250 SE it's 23v. The Dokio panel spec on Amazon stated the COV as 22.5v...

LB Ah - what do I need?

If you had a basic solar panel that would also extend the use of your battery, a 100w panel should put back in about 30Ah on a sunny day, which means you can go for a smaller battery as it'll be constantly getting charged during the day. I will say though, with a big system like mine (230Ah...

Leisure Battery - accidentally drained, what next?

...and that's if your battery was full to start with. As you tested the heater, it probably wasn't. You'd get about 30Ah per day in full sun from a 100w panel, so it's really not hard to only see a few Ah from solar. Then you're at a 10-15Ah deficit every day. If you're not driving it once a...

    Upgrade to 200W solar panel.

I am wanting to change my 100w solar panel for a 200w solar panel. At present there are no isolation switches installed in the solar system. Where would these need to be installed, and what type of switches would be required?

    Another failed flexible solar panel

Firstly... That's a ridiculous price for removing and fitting a new panel! o_O As @T6ChrisO says, rigid is far more reliable - it's just more difficult to fit. If your roof is nice and flat you can use the ABS mounting brackets: If there's any curve though they get awkward to fit. If...

Clayton Lithium Battery - Want to add Solar

Yes I was surprised at how simple it was. The LPS does not show the watts going in but it does show the battery percentage going up as it would on hook up or the van running. I only have a renogy 100w panel and was surprised how well it topped up the LPS even without a massive amount of sunlight.
