Yes you are missing something, the H7 headlights, you could try the nightbreaker bulbs for H4 they are a big improvement over the standard bulbs.

Your setup looks great. I have the same bulbs and the V2 version of the headlights - it’s a massive upgrade compared to the H4 headlamps and I feel a lot more confident driving during this time of year.

There might be better options but hopefully not much brighter. I’m sure there is a maximum figure/pattern for true brightness. Cheap LED bulbs can no doubt exceed this and their poor build quality is what makes them dangerous for everyone - other road users and the driver that installed them...

LED bulbs in regular headlights will dazzle oncoming drivers. Therefore you need LED compatible headlamp fittings.

I was just swapping a h4 bulb on my van and heard a ping. I think a little retainer popped out of the headlight unit - leaving the hole shown in the pic and what item 3 - the spring clip, latches on to to hold the bulb securely. Is this a new headlight unit job as I don’t see the part listed...

Can anyone recommend a headlight bulb upgrade on my 2019 kombi with H4 headlamps. Got to be brighter than original factory fitted bulbs.They must also be road legal to pass mot and don’t throw up any errors on dash. Thank you all.

I’ve tried loads of different bulbs on the H4 at a fair cost and made not much difference then bought a pair of H7 off a fellow member for not much more than I spent on bulbs for the H4 and the difference is night and day! Don’t waste your money trying to make the H4 better there just bad units...
