Somewhat inspired by this thread I'm still contemplating 255/50/18s:
https://www.t6forum.com/threads/will-255-55-18-fit-on-a-lowered-van.28750/
These would fit and, being in Scotland, I've run winter tyres all year round on cars before with no issues (maybe more of a problem on heavier vans...
...and a mild ECU-remap ....... OMG OMG I can't start to explain the difference. In fact I would be prepared to go a size higher in tyre to a 255/55/18 I've now got so much optimised torque and drivability, I can afford to give a bit away. Then again I've run 255/55/18 before (on a T5) and...
There are plenty of options according to the online tyre calcs but I'm curious what people are actually running?
My preference would be to go a smidge oversized both in terms of radius but also width (to get some rim protection but also because I don't like the 'stretched' tyre look). Probably...
From every thing I read on 18” wheels the 235/55/18 seems to be the best size all around but tyres are very limited. They don’t do them in the wild peak or in the perreli scorpion at+ which I think from what i have read and looking at the tread pattern seems to be nearest to a road tread but...
Are the Stitches and Steels just amaroks?
I have amaroks with general grabber at3s 235/55/18 and 235/60/18. I tested 255/55 and although they went round they snagged when the suspension was compressed on lock. Too big for unhindered use on standard suspension.
Sincere apologies if this has already been covered but I have searched unsuccessfully( honestly)
Just had a set of falken wildpeaks fitted to Black Rhino Overlands. Garage recommended 40 psi all round- can anyone confirm
As I don’t carry any load at the moment and thought this may be a bit much...
As new, too big for my van that's lowered 50mm. Slight rubbing when on right full lock and because I monouver in tight spaces on site it would be a pain.
Looking for £100 each
More photos if needed once the tyres are removed later today.
I took the wheel/tyre back to the tyre shop yesterday afternoon for replacement on Monday, so I’ll get some pics when everything’s fitted on the van.
Tyre size I went for the factory size of 235/55/17 to keep the same overall diameter as my Amarok’s with 255/45/18.
Here’s a ‘naked’ pic….
That will be really tight under there, if it will even fit . The width will squeeze…..just, it’s the diameter - it’s 40mm bigger across the circumstance than a 275/35/20 - which we do a modified bracket for, and is a real squeeze.
If you went for 235-55-18 that would work. This so the size we...
Hi! Does anyone know the correct tyre pressure for 255/55/18 BF Goodrich's on a T32 - for road use firstly and then also is there an ideal/lowest pressure for off-road/sand/mud etc. Thanks in adv.
Si,
I didn't use different profiles..it was either or. I'm now running 235 5518. 255s all rub even with spacers. I did try 255s and the rears they especially rubbed on the rear arches even when the van was empty as it went over a speed hump or undulations in the road. I'll have a look for some...
