Yes you can add a seperate mains charger. The Victron IP65 or IP22 blue smart chargers are popular.... The Sargent is just a basic power supply..and won't charge a lithium properly. https://amzn.to/3cjxh8J .

If adding the Renogy lifepo4 battery you will need to add a mains smart charger. The Sargent is just a dumb power supply so won't charge the battery properly. Have a look here at the lithium, monitoring and charge sections...

Hopefully I'll remember this correctly but yes to a B2B charger to charge the leisure battery from the vans alternator. Ditch the Sargent unit 12 volt charger which is a case of pulling the fuse and disconnecting the existing feed from the EC160 to the leisure battery, in my case with Redlines...

Are you sure? You did say in another thread that this sort of charger wasn’t good for standard leisure batteries so is it really ok to have this constant trickle charge to a lithium battery?

Similar yes maybe a slightly older version of it. Doesn’t have the red part. The Sargent unit has an EC50 control panel. Not sure what else it includes. Do you think going for an AGM battery would be better then instead of a Lithium one?

Lol i feel ya pain, I’ve been following advice and get carried away with £££ toting up !!! Want to go with lithium battery and 50a DC/DC and see how the off grid works out. Hopefully the EHU via Sargent will used as back up?

@Stay Frosty . . . have you got your own build thread? - so we can look at your setup? FYI the Sargent isnt a smart battery charger . . . . its just a 12v Power Supply. - which is why its not good at charging battery's . . . especially Lithium's.
