hi there, recently had a knocking sound coming from the drivers front wheel when going over little bumps, no noice when on flat roads.
I had the front drop links changed and the top mounts checked as i know after changing to the B14 coilover can stress those parts.
any ideas , I've now heard...
Just an update for those suffering from the rattle / knock issue. Today (after living with the rattle for almost two years) I swapped the B14 rear shocks back to my original ones and the rattle has gone. Disappointed that the issue was ultimately with the Bilstien shocks, but over the moon that...
So following a helpful call with Bilstein it appears the old B14 issue with the T6 also affects some T6.1s and the B14 Komfort.
There are the 4 raised areas where the nut is spot welded to the chassis where the top of the rear damper fits. The top bush on the damper a larger diameter than the...
I have the coil bound problem with my B14 komforts and some knocking from the rear at times.I have a T6_28 2021 campervan.I did contact the supplier and they said it was normal for the springs to be coil bound and the plastic coating round the coils was to stop the twanging. Also they said they...
Most of the clients with B 14 problems get sorted out free of charge at mine , Hardly drumming up trade ?? . If a client decides to change that is a result of the service we offered for Free . not me trashing the product .
apart from the new B14 kit we removed for a client...
okay guys been a few discussions a couple of months back and posts on this topic... I fitted them myself, and there seems to be a knocking whenever I go near a bump... I’m comparing these coilovers to those on my Audi TT track car, which are don’t give off any rattles or noise .... here’s...
Here's my reasonably full camper including hob/sink, leisure battery, Rib bed, bath tub pop top and 65 litre underslung water tank.
It's a T28 with 102hp so basically shouldn't exist according to the laws of nature and camper van hierarchy but if you can get it up to speed then the Billy's and...
If not upside down, didn’t @CALLAKN have problems with the mating of the strut to the chassis - something to do with notches creating a gap?
As @Ed Webb says, searching ‘B14knock’ will find that thread.
The noise isn't the spring in my opinion , If you give me a call ill explain the problem . I have removed enough of these kits now to know what goes wrong ?
My b14’s are knocking on rear. They have been doing it for a while but only now been able to get in the back of the van and get the Mrs to drive. The knock is coming through the floor on the near side directly above the suspension.
The faulty batch of shocks, do they have any numbers which I...
so after 4K miles I have developed a knocking on the passenger side rear of my van, I fitted them almost from new and had a front knocking almost straight away (still there sometimes) it sounds like tailgate open so assuming rear bushes, does this sounds about right? If I get someone in the back...
Does anyone have any experience of 40mm lowering with Bilstein B14's on a 4-Motion.
Apparently Bilstein quote they should be fine but I'm hearing some people have issues with a knocking sound so its not advisable.
Any comments??
The springs on the B14Komforts are made by Eibach, and are designed as you’ve said with the plastic coating.
I’m not fully understanding your issue- as a Bilstein dealer probably best give us a call or your local dealer and we can help understand the issue and resolve. We haven’t had any issues...
Brand new t6 t32 fitted with van slams. The van has just done 6K and now I have knocking and bottoming out. I'm biting the bullet and going for B14's. Don't rate 5forty vanslams one bit.
I bet none of you saw another update coming this quickly after the last one! :slow rofl:
This week at the cave.......
I've helped a T5 California owner with a few odd jobs: Replaced a damaged awning canvas with a new one, fitted a new tap to replace a faulty one and a few other bits and bobs...
I agree with the above post that springs alone aren't going to improve the ride or help that much with the levelling....
I'm either going B14 or Koni adjustable with lowering / heavy duty rear springs, the B14's are good... and even fantastic on the right van but a lot of people with t32 or...
