Hi all, following this as will be installing electrics soon. I'm likely going down the Roamer Gen4 230Ah Seatbase route with a 3000w Renogy inverter.
My question is: if the Roamer is in a swivel seat base, given the size of the cable to the inverter, does the inverter need to be attached to...
Hi all,
I’m moving on my iPhone 14 Pro due to it being time for my bi annual upgrade.
Thought I’d list it here before going down the more conventional routes.
The phone has 128GB Storage & was previously connected to the EE Network. Current battery health showing as 86%. It has been logged...
My van has a cable from the starter battery through the bulkhead into the passenger footwell (for the dc-dc charger)..
I want add an electric hook up under the bonnet.
Before I start taking the van to bits I was hoping if someone can tell me if there are 2 rubber grommets that can be used into...
If you are planning a route for the cable, spec the exact cable required and check the bend radius - anything approximating a right angle might be a challenge with the kind of sizes we’re talking about here.
Hi @Bigsidavies. Just read your post on cable routing from the drivers seat to the void where the step used to be. I need to do the same thing basically but just wondering exactly where the bung is under the seat. I’m putting a big 230Ah battery in so wondering if I’ll still be able to get some...
I have a LWB T6 and the one that came with it was enough to get it to the back of the van but not enough to route through the doors. Massively depends on the route you take but I doubt the one that comes with it will be enough. If you don't want to pay for the extra you can buy just the...
As part of my current upgrade from AGM to Lithium, I’m installing a 2000w Renogy inverter to power my 1800w induction hob. However, I didn’t consider the limited space I have in my van and the pretty much the only place I can install it is in the back in the garage. My battery being a 230Ah...
Well it is until you see the price of the customer replacement plate fuse...
Overall it's much easier to add to that fusebox than the one underneath the battery, but I think I'd treat it much more as a distribution point and fuse things as if they were not fused so just treating the plate fuse...
Perfect this has been a great help and exactly what I was looking for, thank you so much!
I can see now that the additional supplied fuse carrier; they connect directly to the +ve of the battery and not SA3 as I thought. Obviously there are many equally valid ways to do it, but sticking to this...
Sorted it! Thanks to @Absolut5 and @Dellmassive for giving me the confirmation of a viable route, to explore with confidence.
Just for others who might be looking to do this - it’s only this tricky if you don’t have removable panels. My converters have cut corners in a few areas and this was...
I did my install slightly different to the book, as we plan to fit a leisure battery at some point. I brought a fused thick battery cable through behind the battery to under the drivers seat and fitted a threaded connection post. This is where we plan to fit the leisure battery. I then shortened...
Ah brilliant that’s good to know that’s definitely a route. I tried through that grommet yesterday but got a bit snagged up so assumed it was a dead end. So I’ll persevere.
And then presumably once I have a line up to that hole accessed from the grommet from the light cluster, push through...
Yes it was a driveway install. It was a challenge in as much as I had no experience installing Air only an idea on what needed done. Unknowns for me were mounting points for the tank (Which I had to make brackets and bolt to the sub frame behind the spare) and routing of hoses and cables to keep...
From your 1st paragraph below - I couldn’t quite understand how you used the tailgate rubber bung hole to get access to the wire you were feeding.
“The new camera loom run through the existing door loop into the D-Pillar void and up to the top corner above the roof panel . . . i used the larger...
...clip as a bonus!
I have a fully converted and carpeted van (one piece, so no easily removable ply panels) and I’m trying to investigate cableroutes for a rear camera. I’ve searched and read most d/pillar references in the forum on cameras and I’m happy it can be done. Threads on barn door...
Hi all,
Recently purchased a part converted van and now getting to work on it myself. Poptop roof already done as is the insulation and carpeting. Currently sorting cable for electrics with plan for battery under drivers seat.
Want to have a switch panel on the rear panel on drivers side but...
