    What Have You Bought Today?

After a conversation with the very nice chap Jason @Absolut5 I have bought a Fogstar Drift 12v 230Ah Seat Base Lithium Leisure Battery (on offer from Fogstar for Black Friday at £529.99 from £699.99!). He and his crew are going to re-jig our drivers seat base install, removing the CTEK 250SE et...

    Team Cherry Red

Thank you, it's taken me 2yrs to get this far. 1 you can't see is the doubd deadening and insulation, the 260w solar panel on the roof, 2000w inverter, 110ah Lifepo4 lithium leisure battery. You can only convert at the rate you can spend.

    What Have You Bought Today?

Not so much bought, but with the 3000w inverter, 560ah lithium battery and 5g Internet......I can now run the xbox while off grid, aswell as all the other stuff! Win!

I’ve messed up - Inverter Install

So as a short term solution it’s viable as long as you have a relatively mahoosive lithium reserve. But after a couple of days without sunshine, you’re dependent on either running the engine or EHU.

Solar Sheds & Other Non-t6 Solar Projects - How We Done It -

And just to think this all started from a crappy 20w 12v solar panel. Shown in my first solar Vid. Then over my camping 12v solar adventure to keep the beer fridge running.... Slowly increasing in size and capacity. To my first venture into grid tied kit..... That EcoFlow 800w kit. And now we...

Van electrics upgrade - Shopping list sense check?

The Renogy inverter is fine. If its powerful enough for your requirements. Maybe just fit it to a dedicated socket/s And have your standard EHU feed Via CU to different socket/s Or as @roadtripper suggested above. Use the inverter exclusively to run the sockets and have your EHU power a...

    Gas 'less' Route

Hi all, Reaching out to the guys in the know regarding inverters and elec installations etc. I want to go ELEC only route on my current camper which means I want to run an induction hob. Just on the Renogy site with @Deaky discount code in hand :) and trying to figure out what I need. Im...

Van electrics upgrade - Shopping list sense check?

That's another really great suggestion actually...use the inverter to power all the 240v mains, all the time....then just use the EHU to power the charger and top up the Lithium battery again (or when driving, the DC-DC unit to recharge the Lithium)...Hmmmm.... I think I may be a little...

    Microwave or Grill?

And the moral of this story is….unless you’re prepared to invest huge amounts of money in Lithium & high end inverters. AND the associated copper that you’ll need to connect it all, running significant 240V loads from 12V batteries is a nonsense.

    Camper electrics

Depends entirely on what your usage will be. If you only ever stay on campsites with hookup, then you won't see the benefit of LiFePO4. But if you want to do any camping where there's no hookup, and potentially no or little solar, then even a basic set up with a fridge and some lights will...

Twin batteries under drivers seat ?

the Renogy above is rated at 100A continuous discharge. Renogy recommend one 100ah lithium per 1000w of inverter. so 2x 100ah lithiums will give you the 200A discharge rate for 8000 cycles etc. ( recommended for a 2000w inverter) +++++++++++ pulling 1400w or 130A from one lithium might...

    Renogy inverter to battery cables

" Renogy 1000w inverter under drivers seat, and connect to the 160ah lithium which will be under passenger seat, " - this is how i have mine setup. you need to use super beefy cable, as above use the cable guide. 1000w full load will easily pull 100A/120A . . . so cable for that and fuse...

Trying for a gas free conversion.

I have a lithium-powered system with solar, inverter, portable induction hob, boiling-water tap, no sink and no gas hob (though I do have underslung gas for external 'meaningful' cooking via a BBQ). So it can be achieved, but, as above, it's neither simple nor inexpensive.

What Coffee Machine do you have in your van?

Test run of the new coffee set up for the van. Sledgehammer to crack a nut? But indeed it cracked nicely and the coffee was good! DC House 200ah lithium and Renogy 2000w inverter. Using the coulomb meter I measured 107 amps peak and 1.3kW for the Nespresso. Next steps… get a bunch of...

Should I ditch the Sargent? Please help

    1. Biggest Lithium you can afford; 2. Decent B2B charger to replace the split relay; 3. MPPT solar controller to replace the Epever controller. Don't see why you need to replace the Sargent; yes it isn't perfect for mains charging the lithium but doesn't it also provide the 12v distribution and...

Help setting up a Victron 50 dc to dc charger

looking at this pic, your in BULK charge mode, but the battery voltage of 13.5v says that your battery is almost full, - so slowing down the current going into it. so id assume your battery is +80% SOC, have you got an APP for the battery to show its SOC? +++++++++ +++++ you can try...

Direct charge from 240v hook up to Fogstar 105ah Lithium Battery

@RikParr73 I'll be honest I rarely run that Victron charger as driving and the solar mean it's almost redundant but when I blew the fuse after the Renogy combined B2B/ Mppt unit I can confirm the Victron gets warm and you do smell hot electronics during the latter part of the bulk charge cycle...
