Grommet / Bung underneath front Seat

The dome nut is an earthing point. Nothing connected to that underneath. I can't remember a wire going through that rubber grommet on mine. But it doesn't look OEM to me (but I could be wrong on that).

Grommet / Bung underneath front Seat

...a 64mm hole through the floor for the 'Hot Air in' pipe and the floor looks subtly different to the videos I've seen, they show an unused grommet, where I have one with a wire going through it, and the vids also show an empty 7mm ish hole where I have a dome nut. I'm guessing there is...

...simple - you will need the following: Short cable from Starter battery (SB) to a 60a midi fuse then cable to the DC-DC pos input there is a grommet behind the SB into the cabin. Neg from DC-DC to chassis ground point (there are ones under the seats) or a neg busbar. DC-DC pos output to a...

    H4 To H7 Upgrade

...These are plug and play. 4300k give the best light output. There is a lot of gubbins that sits outside on the headlight. Use a £1 coin as a template to cut a hole in the rubber cover in the back of the headlight and the grommet in the loom will fit perfectly in it.

Engine bay cable route through bulkhead/firewall to cabin

Ah ok found a grommet quite high up past the servo area but because it is a LHD it does come behind the glove box, well further up. How’re I past a guide but cannot see it so I guess it would be best to remove the glovebox or just the bottom plastic cover. It all seems so difficult to remove.

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I really like this. Much preferred set up compared to drilling into the van body.

    Renogy inverter to battery cables

...240v cable can then be earthed easily at engine bay and then routed through the bulkhead and into the van near to the seats - as there's a grommet here to go through. Is this what you have done on your van? I have also seen a method where the VW badge opens up and a socket is installed under...

    Kombi dayvan inspiration

I had someone to do that for me when I bought the van new Ithink they brought it out of the bulk head grommet behind the battery and down behind the dashboard and under the carpet and they fitted the dc to dc charger under the drivers seat.

L/Battery - go large or go lithium?

...have swivels on both seats). I would run new cables if at all possible. The one from the starter battery is pretty easy through an existing grommet (you will be able to see it down behind the battery - probably with the existing cable through it) and under the cab floor covering. It’s easier...

Pulling my hair out!! T5.1 Rearfog light not working.

...to see in to the panel from underneath to see if there's a loom that I could unplug but no addition loom it seems. The cable runs through a grommet above the shied and the light cluster cable plugs in to it inside the panel. Also checked the connectors under passenger seat, the blue block...

Van centres not providing quote for work

...cover, rubber O ring for fuel return on injector. 2x stretch bolts used on the 2x injector clamps need renewing. The bolts have sealing grommet on rocker cover. Manual states to renew if damaged, but taking the view more cost efficient to just renew. VW van centre 1 is quoting ~£870 for job...

What Have You Bought, But Not Yet Fitted or Used?

...I’d void the warranty if I drilled through them so I’m moving the mounts up the rail slightly so I only have to drill through the fibreglass. Just waiting for the rubber grommets to arrive that’ll plug the holes i dont use! As always, the jobs a bit more involved than it first appeared haha.

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

@Richard85 I tried those self adhesive cable tie pads on the painted body under my vans tail lights to secure some water tank vent tubes. Even with a thorough cleaning they don’t stay stuck for long. You may have to find a different way to secure the conduit.

Portable Solar Panel without drilling holes in bodywork

That tie wrap needs trimming - they are vicious left like that. I use a set of cheap lever style nail clippers. :)

Portable Solar Panel without drilling holes in bodywork

If it’s for a leisure battery and you have barn doors you could use the grommets for the tail gate hinges, run some cables to your leisure battery via a controller then leave some connectors externally for the portable panel

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Started prep for the solar cables - conduit run down the side of the tailgate and grommets in the rear light and behind the small corner panel - seemed the easiest place to fish them from. I’m much more comfortable drilling there than through the roof.
