It's possible that you have a faulty DPF differential pressure sensor and the ECU does not do a regen, and you are getting by with the passive regeneration as you drive but then getting a gradual build-up.
I had my DPF DPS replaced for a similar issue. It is an easy fix, you could just replace...
I’ve got the same fault code and I’ve just carried out the basic setting as described and it did indeed fail.
Here’s a pic of the outcome. It did about 10 seconds at 3000rpm then gave this result and the flashing coil light came on.
I guess it’s time to replace the oil pressure valve.
I had some strange things on my t5.1 and the clever people on the forum told me to do a capacitive discharge (disconnect the battery and after a couple of seconds short the + and - leads together this will reset the electronics )
This may be worth a punt

Hi, I'm having an issue with my van, the EML is on and glowpluglight is flashing and i have 2 faults. I removed the boost pressure sensor and it was clogged with soot, I cleaned it but that didn't have any effect so I have one coming on tuesday, but the 2nd fault with the "open circuit message...
Mmi, thanks for your response. My mechanic originally used a snap on solus obd reader, which did struggle to read the engine type, however he then took it to a friend who specialises in vw’s and used his obd reader, which gave the daily code.
He has swapped over the fuel rail, sensor &...
Hi
Broke down the other day. Stop start warning on MFD, flashingglowpluglight and then went into limp mode. I was stuck on a hill and couldn’t get going again. 8 hours later RAC transported us home. Local garage couldn’t find the fault. Had a full service and cam belt change a week before...
Started the van and let it warm up this morning and the glowplug warning light was flashing. Took it for a drive down the road and it didn't stop, also it would appear that one or both of the turbos weren't kicking in,(limp mode?)
I know he marine diesels have the flashingglowpluglight for a...
Towing large twin axle Caravan, 204 DSG 4 motion, towing fairly hard, glowpluglight starts flashing, Oil temp up to 122 degrees, no loss of power, no EML light, carried on got home keyed off been ok since, any ideas, thanks.
Morning, I had my EGR pipe replaced on my 204 Swb Kombi about 2,000 miles back.
There had been the flashingglowpluglight on a couple of times which apparently pointed to the system needing to be flushed.
Fast forward to a week or two back on a long journey back from France and the light...
It ain’t over...
After 1000 miles a strange kazoo type noise from under the bonnet, flashingglowpluglight and loss of power. Called the AA and it’s being recovered back to the dealer. The diagnosis said
“Patrol found the following fault code/s:System : Engine control 1 - VEL / EDC Delphi DCM...
Hi garryproffitt@hotmail.co.
I am having what appears to be a very similar issue to yours. Mechanic (a friend luckily!!) has replaced EGR, turbos, boost sensor and vacuum actuator but still getting the flashingglowplug dash light every so often. Would you mind explaining what you mean by the...
I would try VCDS first to see what faults you have stored and then I would preform number of VCDS measurements(fuel pressure, etc.).
Have a look on the forum map, maybe there is someone local willing to help you.
News back from the dealer was that it needs a new turbo..
Price £2700 or thereabouts. They’ve offered to pay half..
I’ve thus far refused the offer as I feel that as they managed to break all 4 injectors the last time they had the engine apart breaking the turbo must be connected?
I’ve spoken to...
Hi, I had a similar scenario, towing twin axle family dogs etc, glowlightflashing, no loss of power no EML light, Oil temp up to 122 degrees, got home been fine for the last few days.
Theres something else going on here..... 2k miles is to soon for a reoccurring fault.
id assume that they didnt clean the EGR valve fully/properly, (last time) which is why the issues has come back so soon.
incidentally the VW manual states that the EGR "pipe" should be "replaced" if its...
