t32 hard suspension - pot hole avoidance

@Alexander4699 235-55-17 have and overall diameter of 690.3mm, compared to 225-65-17 with and overall diameter of 724.3mm. You are quite right in saying there is a 34mm difference. However, the overall vehicle height will be raised by the radius difference which is 17mm. That's the difference...

Is the T32 a boneshaker even when well loaded?

...ours is a heavy 4M campervan, so left the original factory springs in place, drives completely different,no bone, teeth rattling and goes nice round the bends, very stable, one of the best improvements, oh and he also added a cheeky little 25mm lift with spacers. Tyres are 235/65/17 at 48psi

    Hi . 2x T6 Caravelle’s, one modded for Dolomites

...Not needing too much of an excuse, I managed to convince the other half that we NEEDED some choice modifications! Top of the list was a set of 17” Black Rhino Warlord wheels with AT tyres, in a 235/65/17- they arrive from Elite, tomorrow! A quick ‘before pic’ of the van in its current state!

    235/65/17 or 245/65/17

I had the same dilemma, went with 235/65/17 on my T32, lowered by 45mm. It fills the gap well, no rubbing and could poss go a bit lower.

    Falken Wildpeak on 17 or 18" ?

I have 235/65/17 wildpeaks on VW Devonports and they rub on limit of steering, 15mm spacers and extended wheel studs from Transporter HQ sorted it, Looks better too, I run 42 psi as an aside. You wont get one underneath as a spare so keep the original spare in place for limping to a tyre fitter...

All season vs all terrain tyres

I haven't got spacers but was told that 10mm would be best for my set up to ensure it definitely doesn't clash with the sliding door. I'll be getting it done but not for a while, just trying to recover from the recent mechanical expenses!

    17" steel wheels

As above. I ran 215/60/17 on my Devonports (standard size) and also ran 235/55/17 which are almost identical circumference etc. without issue. I currently have 236/65/17 which is a popular AT tyre size. It is bigger so it looks the part and is certainly more comfortable. While it does affect...

Show me your Ascot Grey on Swamper Wheels

Not Ascot Grey, but I just changed mine from 20" 275/40/RZ20. Ride was hard and handling not to my liking. I added 17" Fuel Zephyr Wheels with Falken Wild track 235/65/17 All Terrain. Totally different beast.

All terrain tyres - recommendations and pictures

Is the tire pressure yes/no different when the van is fully loaded or empty? I would like to see a chart with pressure versus weight (per tire).

    Loc 8 Table Trimming

I'm surprised with lining it falls out! I have to force mine in...do you make sure it's pushed down into the lower slots? If you go down the clip route, be careful of clearance when opening as mine pretty much touches the wheel (OZ Rally Raids with 235/65/17 tyres though)

All terrain tyres - recommendations and pictures

Yes definitely 108 load rating, 235 65 17, I’m about to order a set for winter, I’m just deciding what wheels to put them on They have a new version of this tyre but reports are it’s a different compound and not so good on snow and ice, so buying the AT3s while still available

    SwamperLow

I was running 225/55/17 Goodyear EfficienctGrip Cargo with the Solow's. I've since switched to the BMVS Edition bilstein coilovers and now run Falken Wildpeak 235/65/17. The Solow set up was fine for general driving but too low for the muddy lanes and fields which my new hobbies now involve.

    235/65/17 tyres but 215/60/17 spares a problem?

We are off to…… I don’t actually know…. Somewhere in Europe… next weekend. My T6 4motion normally wears 235/65/17 General Grabber AT3 because they look cool and the council owned country parks round here have some pretty extreme terrain . But the spare is a 215/60/17. If I got a puncher and put...

    Which tyres for 7.5J 18’s

Hello, I got 255/45/18 on my t6 with stock rims and Koni suspension (30mm higher) but hungarian roads are very bad and I was thinking on changing it to 235/55/17 or stay with the same rims and put 255/55/18 or 235/55/18 - but then my dsg would be more sluggish and I dont know which to choose...

    My T6 "Swamper" Build

Iv got 235 65 17 GG AT3 and I’m reading 3 mph under on the dash at 70mph. Also have 25mm lift spacers, fitted by CRS, with Koni adaptive shocks, and kept the original T32 springs, drives lovely.

    Hi . 2x T6 Caravelle’s, one modded for Dolomites

Great journey down. The 235/65/17 A/T tyres are brilliant! I couldn’t notice any difference on road noise, but they give a far more compliant ride quality. They soak up our potholed roads perfectly! I found they gripped well on the dry roads, and never stepped out or understeered on the wet...
