Blowing C44 fuse/wiring to sliding door control unit

Either way the control module is inside the rear quarter panel above/behind the wheel arch It’s not uncommon for rain to get through the sliding door rail bolts and leak inside the rear quarter panel area so could just be simple water ingress ?

Mine was a control module in the driver's side back corner, just below back light. Mine had corroded with water ingress .

    Aftermarket Speakers, Water Ingress, VIDEO

Hi All, I’ve spent the weekend messing around with my Vibe door speaker, working out how water gets in, where it goes and how to prevent it. I certainly don’t have a definitive answer, but I’ve made a video compiling information I’ve accrued, which will hopefully help people understand what the...

Powered closing doors don’t close from internal handle nor fob

Hi mate don't suppose you know the part number of that controller? I have the exact same issue on my van with the same door. And is it located in the little pocket above the wheel arch? I've had a quick look but could only seem to see a motor in mine.

    Non reflective reflector

Is it a genuine part? I guess these are easily damaged and it could have been replaced at some point. If you had the van from new and know you’ve never replaced it then I’m stumped. Water ingress and mould might be an issue but even then you’d expect some reflection I’d have thought?

Drivers side step insert filling with water

Hi. Was back in with VW the other week, just waiting for a decent downpour to double check all ok. This time they replaced the window regulator and it seems to have done the trick. All dry where previously there would have been plenty of water ingress. Hope this helps

    Water ingress.. from slam vents?

Hi all. We have just purchased our first vw T6.1 and there is wet in the compartment at the back where the gas is stored. We have spoke to the garage that converted it and they are saying it’s from the spray off the tyre coming up through the vent. But the carpet is soaking. Surely this isn’t...

    Side step water collection

I have a suspicion that in my case the weather seals around the door are working just fine and actually the water ingress might be around the slightly loose door handle. One day I'll figure out how to get the rather large Caravelle door card off the inside and have a look...

Electric Tailgate / Trunk stopped opening with key 2017/18 T6

...(+ve and -ve) and a canbus pair (can high and can low) I would probably start by getting at the control module in the rear quarter panel and checking for water ingress in that area and also disconnect the 3 plugs that connect to the module and make sure they are all clean and plugged in properly

Electrical Damage Caused By Water in Tailgate

...(apparently they outsource camera installations to another company). In addition the car is under warranty but it is not covered for water ingress - however my view is there wouldn't be water ingress if the drain pipe had been connected in the first place. Can anyone advise what I should do...

Electric side door fault- soft opening not working

I eventually found a control unit in the osr void beneath the window between the C & D pillar, removed and opened it up to find it had water ingress. Cleaned up and touched joints on circuit board with a soldering iron. Refitted to find lights off on dash! Had to recalibrate with vcds. Worked...

Rear latch keeps failing - options to change or rig a solution?

Water ingress at the third brake light or the handle itself are other culprits for a failing latch.. have you noticed anything like this? Have you replaced them or the garage? Are either able to say what the cause seemed to be? As @Alster said, whilst they do fail they’re not known for being...

...rev counter up and down, headlights flashing on and off. It the engine and gearbox functioning as normal. Please can someone give me a clue. I disconnected the battery and it cured the issue but only for five minute or so. Could it be water ingress in the BECM Any help would be greatly...

Leaking sliding door rusting blind mechanism

Water ingress is common and well documented. Sliding side windows one source, rear sliding door at the C pillar area and last but not least the tailgate. All leaking areas never been sorted since the T5 was first released. My 2008, 2016 and 2021 caravelle they all have the same leaking points...

    Headlight Lens Swap

They're a sealed unit. Users here have had them in the oven to melt the glue so they can be dismantled but then you have to reseal well them to stop water ingress plus I'm not sure you can even buy a lens.

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Not what have I done but what has it done…………tailgate button has gone on strike! I’m assuming water ingress and micro switch failure. Luckily I have a key barrel on the outside so can still access the boot. I had the handle colour matched late October so I’m wondering if disassembly/reassembly...
