Is this van any good? had a new engine.

...my if this is worth it? Seems a bit pricy for a California of that age. A mate is looking at it, I don’t know anything about the issue with the 180 engines. He does seem to be giving a lot of information about the van. Good or bad...

    [Guide] Clayton LPS II 2500 - 1kWh (leisure battery + Inverter) -- How I Done It --

I need to ask what is potentially a daft question, I have an LPS II 3000 just plonked in the back of the van, it's connected to 180 watt solar panel, the battery is 98%. What happens to the excess production from the panel, heat perhaps. I'm wondering if I should plug something in to protect the...

Found Kombi load mat - lwb twin slider with cut outs for bench seat

Yeah it’s in good condition, I did advertise it on the forum a week or so ago, and pictures on there, I’m just outside wetherby West Yorkshire at the side of the A1 , advertised at £180 but I’ll take £150,

    Wheel bolts warning

...parts on the market, stick with OEM. Normally I remove wheels and take to the tyre fitters as the competition factor often means they are time monitored and don’t bother with a torque wrench. You are more likely to have some success with a T bar using torque applied evenly at 180 degrees.

Wanted Sliding window for steel bulkhead

...your dealer sell you the part, when i enquired they told me it was only available as an option on a new van. The glazed bulkhead on the brochure is about £180....... but they were willing to sell me an aftermarket Motexion bulkhead for £500. They don't call them 'main stealers' for nothing.

Could this be the one, price wise what do you think?

How many 199’s were built v how many are problematic? You only hear of the ones that go wrong. Could be less than 5%?? My mate has a 2010 180 bi-turbo. Ok it had a EGR valve done at 80k miles but is now on 200k miles and still pulling like a train. Pays ya money, takes y chance as they say...

No engine start - U01400 fault

As the crank sensor pick up is in the rear main seal have I messed up aligning the seal? Should the centre of the oil seal align with the blind hole on the crank end rather than 180' opposite?

Going back to stock springs and shocks. How bad can it be?

...around witht he damping on the front shocks. On balance, I think they provided a better (for me at least) balance of comfort and handling with 180 degrees of extra damping adjustment (180 degree anticlockwise turn on the adjuster). The effect seemed to be to improve settling after cornering...

T6 Retro fit OEM electric tailgate open/close switch

Yes, that kind of switch will "identify" itself as a switch outside tailgate. Just put a 180 ohm resistor in series to make it act as an OEM switch inside - enabling to open tailgate from inside even when van is locked (of course it still won't unlock safe-locked van)

    - 204ps Bi-Turbo CXEB T6 Engine & Turbo problems -

...about DPF issues, and they were saying that the dpf is too far away from the engine to get hot unless on bigger distance trips. I have a CFCA 180 4m with a new engine, turbos, DPF and blanked and mapped out EGR and I'm watching the dpf like a hawk. Nice long journeys it all works like a...

Faulty Halo 9? Where's the bass? Anyone local to me that could help?

In my car audio days 20yrs ago this would have been reversed polarity on one of the mid bass drivers, each side would sound reasonable individually but obviously 3db down on the stereo pair when the 180 degree out mids cancel each other rather than sum.

    Auxiliary tensioner new torque setting

Hi all, it would appear that VW have changed the torque setting for the aux tensioner bolt from 50Nm plus 90deg to 50Nm plus 180degrees. See below from member SimonS today. Can someone confirm the tensioner torque settings please, I have found 50NM and 180 deg and 90 deg. I assume they changed...

    EGR Insufficent Flow - Carista

Yes, I’ve cleaned a 102 unit, cooler rammed solid with carbon and valve seized, same as 150ps 180ps EGR is a different problem again - internal corrosion. 204ps EGR seems to be a trend for coolant leakage.

    Help please! Blocked DPF issues.

For reference my 6.1 regenerates around every 180-200 miles (about 70% dual carriageway 30% local) 28 hours seems implausible on the face of it as this thread has been going on longer than that - I can only assume that's the last time the conditions for a regen were met but it was not attempted...

Has a T5.1 got more engine problems than any other Transporter?

The 180bhp engine has a reputation for reliability issues. So the garage are advising you correctly. If it’s smoking you will be clogging the dpf, depending upon how much oil it’s using. if it’s a keeper, you will be replacing the engine and whatever is not re-useable. Hopefully it’s not really...

    180 to 150. Disappointment surprise.

Hey Jetrebel. I'm kinda feeling your pain, and you are not alone. I previously had a stock 2014 180 BiT DSG Highline Kombi for 8 years, and loved it (15k to 100k miles over the period). But due to the known issue with EGR & oil usage issues, it sadly went, and now got a 2019 T6 150 DSG...
