L/Battery - go large or go lithium?

Forget the solar for now. As I said earlier today and Roadtripper is also saying the issue is likely the feed from the LB to the back of the van. If that isn’t working correctly you will get the 2 symptoms you have (no hab and odd solar). Check that cable for continuity using your multimeter...

L/Battery - go large or go lithium?

Thank you, I’ve disconnected panels for now. I have left all panels in cupboards accessible to try and understand problem. I have ordered some chunky auto electrical wire to see if I can temporarily wire positive if mppt to LB and see if that is stable. If so I may need to consider routing a...

L/Battery - go large or go lithium?

What is the CBE circular component those spade connectors are attached to? What is the routing of the cables from the MPPT to the LB? It looks almost certainly like a wiring issue.

L/Battery - go large or go lithium?

Panels connect through a hole in pop top and routed to ‘wardrobe’. I followed the step by step on the install and was very happy to use spade piggy backs rather than try and route a wire all through van to leisure battery. I will leave all disconnected until I can get some proper pictures of...

Running solar cable after pop top fitted

I'm after some advise guys, i have a SkyLow roof fitted and the interior is all carpet lined. I'm about to fit solar so need to run the cables. Anyone done this on a lined van before? and any idea on the best route for them? I've fitted solar to van with an SCA roof so know the usual routes but...

    Ecoflow Alternator Charger 800W

Routed from inside the van via the top of the passenger wheel arch breach in the fire wall. It comes out to the rear of the battery compartment. Red to battery, black to the head light bracket with a little scraping to ensure a good earth. Inside I routed the cable under the dash behind the...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Fitted my 305w Victron solar panel to my new roof rack. Made up 8x aluminium brackets out of 3mm angle. Drilled the brackets, the solar frame and rubber mounts between the bracket and the roof rack. All secured using M8 stainless bolts and nyloc nuts. I've got a 2x size (4x bolts) bracket for...

    Kombi dayvan inspiration

Gracias! @Rioja John . The photos and description you've attached are really useful. Any tips for routing the cable from the starter battery in the engine bay to the box? I've got a T6.1 SWB Shuttle. Thanks

T6.1 PV to daily driven camper.

Ahh okay! I’ll have a look under the van and check it out before I decide which route to go in if to move it forward or not then! Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated! I’m about to order a spotweld drill to remove the jack fixing bracket in the rear arch and the bulkhead bracket. I’ll...

    Dan’s Fishing Van

So I have slowly been getting the titan black lower dash trim for the van. I liked the cool brushed titanium trim inserts for this, so went this route. The swap over is pretty straightforward, glovebox and center console requires a bit more work because of the torx screws and unclipping of dsg...

    Badjamins van conversion

I’ve done exactly as you suggested, I’d guess it would be easier to route the cables before carpet but that would still be after sound deadening and insulation. If you are fitting ply panels then you have quite a bit of flexibility behind them anyway. The other through is cable is pretty cheap...

    Badjamins van conversion

If I was starting from scratch with a van I'd 100% get all the wiring, plumbing etc in first before doing any sort of panelling - I'd also definitely put in routing channels with conduit - there's always something you want to fit later on that you didn't anticipate and especially when you're...

    Badjamins van conversion

Okay so budget has now gone on parking charge and MOT and previous works mentioned above. So no new purchases of any substance for the time being. I now have in my spare room- sound deadening, thermo fleece, insulation, carpet and all the adhesives remaining windows and window blanks for rear...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Started work on fitting my inverter, the mounting plywood base has a few slots and holes to allow the loom connectors to sit behind the inverter, and for the cables to enter into the seat base. I'll need to remove the seat and lift the battery to wire it in but I also need to route in a 5m...
