Hi I had a split egr rear pipe and my T6 was out of warranty I spoke directly to VW Head Office to explain the situation and to bring it to there attention that it was a safety issue as fumes where entering the Cab and I was really happy that they agreed to do it for free under warranty.
So far I have found autodoc to be the cheapest for a replacement what about you? I'm thinking I may separate the egr to see what condition it's in the only reservation I have with that, is obtaining a replacement gasket for between the cooler and the valve.
Hi, having a big problem with my van.
Issue:
Limp mode, van will not go over 3000rpm.
At 3000 rpm engine raddles and shakes with diesel knocking & dies down to idle or shuts off, completely losing power.
Light Blue smoke from exhaust.
No fault codes
Starts up quick & nice idle.
Drives normal...
I’d take a Revo over a Piddle remap all day long, tried and tested on 100’s of 204’s.
The injectors are the last of your worries on a 204, egr valve, egr cooler, dpf, crank seal, flexi-pipe will all self-destruct before the injectors ;)
There could be a leaking egrpipe which is more noticeable when on regeneration. Advice is to allow the regeneration to complete rather than repeatedly interrupting the process.
So, I have had the EGR assembly removed completely, blanked off and a coolant bypass pipe fitted due to a coolant leak suspected from the EGR cooler.
However, despite the tuners efforts I'm assuming a temperature sensor is still being read and needs to be "disabled" perhaps.
Would any of you...
The EGR valve is still fitted but I've removed and blanked the pipe before it, the one with the corrugated part at the back of the engine that normally cracks. The pipe itself was fairly clogged (but not cracked) and so was the valve from what I could see. The hissing was there before and after...
It's possibly a split EGRpipe.

Have a read of some of these;

So, yesterday I got bored so I whipped off the front EGRpipe at the EGR cooler end, with that off I could clearly see the soot was moist, not the dried / caked on soot I saw when I changed the pipe 2 years ago. I used my bore scope and sent it down into the cooler and what should I find...
...yesterday 150bhp with 90k. Whooshing and loss of power, then coil light flashing and whooshing stopped but limp home. Garage found the front EGRpipe flange braze had failed. Did some stainless steel weld on it and it seems as good as new, no pressure loss and no further faults. Very helpful...
My van’s been in for investigation today about the ongoing coolant loss. A different garage has stuck a camera in the new EGR and found it contains water. There is apparently a service bulletin that requires some new modified bits when fitting an EGR or it risks over heating the EGR and...
Had my MOT and inspector said intercooler had oil on it and was hissing from around there. I replaced it yesterday and it felt twice as fast and not down on power. Only problem is that EML came back on with P0106.
Recent work
New EGR valve and tube pipe
Intercooler
New MAP sensor
Cleaned MAF...
Can't really tell from my phone's sound quality.
But common noise causes can be, belt tensioner pulley?. High pitch squeal.
Or DMF?, it rattles.
Or Leaking EGRpipe? can cause air leak hiss... But is constant and comes with a exhaust smell.
Keep us posted....
...if it was a CFCA with a Tafmet kit, it isn’t.
As far as I’m aware there is no way to disable the EGR without a software modification and possibly some EGRpipe blanking plates as the valve will almost certainly be leaking.
You will probably need to track down the previous owner to get the...
Recently the Caravelle 150PS 2015 T6 engine management light came on. Luckily my brother has a bodyshop and I put the van on his Autel machine.
Here I presume lies the problem
I also get exhaust fumes in the cab and my local garage has said there is a split in the concertina pipe which is...
