Ahh right! I must go misread previous posts where people said it didn’t flash?
Okay this sounds interesting! I look forward to seeing the progress!

Hey there. I am looking for a way to add additional USB socket that would:
be used to power two wireless chargers 15W
be on only when ignition is on.
be hidden somewhere behind all the plastics - I found a way to route the cable out and to the chargers on the passenger side, not yet started on...
Most of the time I see the ghost flashes I have to say. And if I'm in one of those.. in a hurry pressed everything too fast and got to do it again, I always see it. Plus, you have the coil light indicating whether you have failed or succeeded after keying back. So ghost visibility is an absolute...
So I started as well equipping my MJ23 T6.1 with a HOD steering wheel.
The steering wheel I recently purchased at a good price is 3G0419089 DA (Passat B8 Facelift 2019, requires a 5-pin wiring harness for the airbag).
Now, there are these wiring harnesses—I had suspected 5G0971584J or...
I'm planning to route the cables under the rubber foam matting just where it meets the plywood floor as it gets thinner here and it simply flaps back quite easily. There's enough space to route the cables and no worries about heat issues really. I would not bother going under the van outside...
i used 16mm / 20mm copex (split or not) tubing, and run the 16/25mm2 cable in that.
along the groves in the bodywork,

pics from @Deaky van
but you can see there are two low section where the seat base bolt are. .
i pushed the tube allong there,
green being the feed in...
...my new 1000w renogy inverter under my single passenger seat. I'm going to have my own cable made up, my question is, I'm concerned about cableroute between the 2 seats, how have you guys done this? Have you gone straight under cab matting(I'm concerned about heat with this option), or, have...
Do I need to avoid running speaker cable near power cables?
I seem to remember getting alternator whine back in the day when I fitted amps, etc. To cars.
But I can't remember what caused it.
Hiya, this is something I want to do and am researching now, please can you provide details of the cableroute you used from grille badge to headunit? Thanks
I dropped mine down to the panel to the left of the steering column. you can then easily grab them though the steering column adjustment hole, then poke em back when your done.
Good news, removed the cluster. Slackened some screws a bit and the corner discolouration is gone. Switched on ignition and then pressed the panel into place and saw it come back a bit. So I at least now know something behind the cluster is mostly causing it. Will cut more plastic away.
Just...
If you have barn doors then a popular route to the roof is the tailgate hinge cutout on the body, which will be filled with a gasket.
It's probably a long route for your use case and you'd probably need to run cable forward along roof rails or similar.
On the plus side you might find that...
Yeah all good, and just go with the Victron recommended sizing for fuses, so 60a on the engine side and 30a on the power bank side.
The only real downsides to going bigger with wiring is cost and trying to route a bigger cable through spaces.
It wouldn’t take much. Up the size of the positive cable from under the seat to the back of the van to 16mm2 and have a point accessible in the rear for a negative cable. The larger cable will help reduce any voltage drop and increase capacity so the solar controller could be put in the rear of...
Hi, I’m trying to understand if this portable solar panel is as simple as connecting it together as shown by the diagram, which then can run my 12v fridge and lights off grid?
So basically, I connect the converter to the panel. Then the converter directly to the leisure battery via the...
...Renogy battery monitor / shunt. Battery lifted slightly at the rear to make more room for cables beneath and relive pressure. 50mm pos cablerouted through 225amp mega fuse, then 300amp isolator, before travelling down right of battery, and under the tunnel to the drivers seat base, along...
I have a suspicion some issue may link back to my rear wardrobe.
In that thread posted pictures of initial piggy backs etc and then introduced a bus bar.
The red cable from
MPPT ended up being routed through cupboards to battery under driver seat.
This obviously isn’t the same length (much...
Not a single build thread, but posts in various leisure electrics threads and the ‘what have you done to your van today’ thread. Mine was an upgrade to lifepo4 plus solar which also meant replacing the existing, but unsuitable, CBE kit and taking the opportunity to relocate things from the rear...
